New Delhi: Maharashtra Tourism has embarked on an ambitious nationwide roadshow tour, aiming to provide incredible opportunities, gauge the interest of potential clients, and unlock the market potential by fostering travel trade partnerships. The tour spans eight key cities and involves active participation in various trade fairs in collaboration with esteemed stakeholders and partners. Through these trade fairs, Maharashtra Tourism showcases the vast and diverse travel and tourism landscape the state has to offer, encompassing its rich historical heritage, picturesque beaches, revered religious monuments, scenic hill stations, thriving wildlife, thrilling adventure sports, tantalizing exotic cuisine, vibrant cultural festivals, and excellent transportation connectivity. Renowned as one of India’s most sought-after tourist destinations, Maharashtra has garnered immense popularity among travelers.

Following the resounding success of last year’s edition, Maharashtra Tourism chose the magnificent city of Delhi as the destination for this year’s roadshow. The highly anticipated event took place on the 21st of February at Hotel The Royal Plaza in Connaught Place, drawing the participation of prominent personalities in the city’s tour and travel fraternity. Over the years, a significant upsurge in travel and tourism has been observed from North India, with citizens displaying a strong inclination toward exploring Maharashtra’s revered pilgrimage sites such as Ashtavinayak, Jyotirlangas, Pandharpur, and Kolhapur. Additionally, they exhibit a keen interest in experiencing the coastal delights of Tarkarli, Malvan, Murud, Murud-Harne, Ajarle, Kelshi, Guhagar, Velneshwar, Ganpatipule, Are-Vare, Shiroda, and Kunkeshwar, along with indulging in thrilling adventure sports. This presents a remarkable opportunity for Maharashtra Tourism to cater to the specific needs and preferences of North Indian travelers, aligning perfectly with the destinations the state has to offer.

Maharashtra, as a state, provides limitless opportunities for tourists to explore and discover. Its extensive railway, roadway, and airway networks facilitate seamless travel experiences for both domestic and international travelers. In order to enhance niche tourism segments within the state, Maharashtra Tourism has implemented several progressive policies, including Agro Tourism, Beach Shack, Caravan, and Adventure Tourism policies. These forward-thinking initiatives have been carefully designed to adapt to evolving travel trends and align with the changing preferences of tourists.

Moreover, these roadshows not only target popular tourist destinations but also explore major financial hubs across the country. They serve as an invaluable platform for entrepreneurs, offering a vast pool of potential leads essential for conducting market research, fostering professional connections, expanding brand presence, negotiating sales agreements, and ultimately engaging with end-users. By leveraging the power of these roadshows, stakeholders in the travel and tourism industry can tap into a plethora of opportunities for growth and development.

Mr. Swapnil Kapadnis, Joint Director, Directorate of Tourism(DoT), Govt of Maharashtra,  said, “After receiving an overwhelming response from our roadshows last year, we are elated to organize a road show series this year as well to newer markets and explore untapped opportunities. Our motive is to promote tourism and boost inter-state travel and tourism. We are happy to receive such a great response for our roadshow in Delhi. Maharashtra as a state is rich in travel and tourism opportunities due to various aspects. Post covid, the tourism industry is reviving and the travel companies in Maharashtra are witnessing an uptick in booking trends. We are certain that all our forthcoming roadshows in the country will get a great response from the citizens.”

In summary, Maharashtra Tourism’s extensive 8-city roadshow tour and participation in various trade fairs exemplify a strategic approach to showcase the state’s vast tourism potential and connect with prospective clients. With its plethora of captivating destinations, excellent connectivity, and forward-looking policies, Maharashtra continues to be a beacon for travelers seeking unforgettable experiences.
