Mahindra Thar Earth edition launched
New Delhi: Mahindra & Mahindra, the indigenous SUV manufacturer, has introduced the highly anticipated Thar Earth edition, marking a significant milestone in their product lineup. Priced at an attractive starting point of Rs 15.40 lakh (ex-showroom), this exclusive variant offers customers the choice between petrol and diesel powertrains, along with the option of manual or automatic transmission, all within the top-of-the-line LX Hard Top 4×4 configuration.
Under the hood, the Thar Earth edition is equipped with a formidable 2.0-liter mStallion 150 TGDi petrol engine generating an impressive output of 150 horsepower and 320Nm of torque. Alternatively, customers can opt for the reliable 2.2-liter mHawk 130 CRDe diesel engine, delivering a robust 130 horsepower and 300Nm of torque.
Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a smooth 6-speed automatic gearbox. While the Thar Earth edition comes standard with 4WD capability, rear-wheel drive is not available. Exuding a distinctive charm, this special edition boasts a captivating satin matte ‘Desert Fury’ exterior finish, complemented by striking dune-inspired decals on the doors and rear fender, accompanied by silver alloys and subtly elegant matte black badges. Unique ‘Earth Edition’ badges proudly adorn the B-pillars, distinguishing it from other Thar variants.
The interior of the Thar Earth edition draws inspiration from desert landscapes, featuring a tasteful combination of a black base color with light beige accents. Adding a touch of sophistication, the vehicle showcases luxurious beige leatherette seats adorned with intricate dune designs on the headrests. The cabin further incorporates stylish ‘Desert Fury’ inserts on the AC vents, steering wheel, center console accent, and prominent Thar branding on the doors. Emphasizing exclusivity, each Thar Earth edition SUV comes complete with a distinctively numbered decorative VIN plate, sequentially starting from serial number 1.
