New Delhi: BYD has introduced a mid-lifecycle refresh for its popular Atto 3 electric SUV, bringing several enhancements without any mechanical changes. Primarily meant for overseas markets, this update aims to enhance the appeal of the Atto 3 with new paint options and an upgraded infotainment system while retaining the existing powertrain setup.

Externally, the Atto 3 is largely unchanged, except for introducing the attractive new ‘Cosmos Black’ exterior color option. Additionally, subtle changes include blacked-out chrome window surrounds, silver textured D-pillar trims, updated alloy wheel design, and a revised ‘BYD’ badging on the boot lid.

Inside the cabin is where the noticeable improvements are, with the Atto 3 now featuring a larger 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, carried over from the Sealed EV model. Accompanying this upgrade is a refreshed black-blue interior color scheme, replacing the previous beige-blue combination. Additionally, a new ‘Intelligent Start’ system has been introduced, which allows drivers to start the vehicle by simply pressing the accelerator pedal.

Under the hood, the Atto 3 continues to use a front-axle-mounted electric motor that produces 201hp and 310Nm of torque. This powertrain configuration enables the Atto 3 to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds. The SUV is equipped with a 60.48kWh blade battery, which offers an ARAI-certified range of 521 km. Charging times remain efficient, with the 7kW Type 2 AC charger charging the battery in about 10 hours, while the 80kW fast charger achieves a 0-80 percent charge in just 50 minutes.

Overall, the latest update to the BYD Atto 3 aims to enhance both its aesthetic appeal and technical offerings, further cementing its position as an attractive option in the electric SUV segment.
