Mumbai Hit-and-Run: Woman Fatally Dragged 1.5 km by BMW Driver Mihir Shah

New Delhi: In a shocking incident in Mumbai, 24-year-old Mihir Shah allegedly struck and fatally dragged 45-year-old Kaveri Nakhwa for 1.5 kilometers, also injuring her husband, Pradeep. The tragic event took place in the Worli area as the couple was riding their two-wheeler.

According to the police investigation, revealed through disturbing CCTV footage, the incident occurred on a Sunday morning. Mihir Shah, driving a BMW, hit Kaveri and Pradeep. Instead of stopping, Shah continued to drive, dragging Kaveri along. The footage shows Shah and his accomplice, Rajrishi Bidawat, stopping just before the Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL). They removed Kaveri from the bonnet and then reversed over her. After committing this heinous act, they fled towards Kala Nagar, where their vehicle eventually stalled.

Rajesh Shah, Mihir’s father, arrived at the scene in a Mercedes to assist his son’s escape. Despite his efforts, the police, alerted by Pradeep and an eyewitness, managed to apprehend Rajesh and Bidawat. However, Mihir Shah remains at large. The Mumbai Police have mobilized 11 teams and enlisted the Crime Branch’s help to locate him. A Look Out Circular (LOC) has also been issued.

This incident has sparked widespread public outrage, highlighting the urgent need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and swift justice for victims of reckless driving. Authorities are under significant pressure to apprehend Mihir Shah and ensure justice for Kaveri Nakhwa and her family.
