Majestic 90-Foot Hanuman Murti Unveiled as New Landmark in Texas

New Delhi: A 90-foot-tall bronze murti of Lord Hanuman has unveiled in Sugar Land, Texas, has become home to an impressive new landmark. It Known as the “Statue of Union,” this monumental sculpture is now the third tallest statue in the United States, following the Statue of Liberty in New York (151 feet) and the Pegasus and Dragon in Hallandale Beach, Florida (110 feet).

This remarkable statue holds the unique distinction of being the tallest Hanuman murti outside India and the tallest statue in Texas, making it a significant cultural and spiritual symbol in the region. The Statue of Union was erected at the Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land, approximately 35 kilometers from Houston. The statue was officially unveiled during a grand Prana Prathishta Mahotsavam ceremony, which took place from August 15 to 18, attracting devotees from across the country.

The organizers of the event highlighted that the Statue of Union embodies the virtues of “selflessness, devotion, and unity,” which are deeply associated with Lord Hanuman. The statue’s name was chosen to honor Hanuman’s crucial role in reuniting Lord Ram and Sita, reflecting the statue’s profound spiritual significance.
