The Jawa 42 FJ 350’s neo-classic design is highlighted by segment-first features like an anodised, brushed aluminium fuel tank cladding. This unique design element is complemented by an aluminium headlamp holder, grab handles, and footpegs, giving the motorcycle a refined and premium look. The off-set fuel cap adds a distinct touch to the overall tank design, enhancing its visual appeal.

In keeping with modern trends, the Jawa 42 FJ 350 is equipped with an all-LED lighting package, which includes the headlamp, tail lamp, and turn indicators. The upswept exhaust design not only adds to the bike’s sporty appeal but also ensures better ground clearance. The fully-digital instrument cluster provides all necessary information at a glance, and the inclusion of a USB charging port caters to the needs of the modern rider.

Performance and Engine

At the core of the Jawa 42 FJ 350 is the newly developed 350 Alpha2 engine, which promises a robust performance with 29.2PS of maximum power and 29.6Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, ensuring smooth and efficient power delivery across various riding conditions. Additionally, the motorcycle is equipped with an assist and slipper clutch, which enhances the riding experience by making gear shifts smoother and reducing engine braking.

Chassis and Suspension

The Jawa 42 FJ 350 is built on a double-cradle frame, which offers a perfect balance of strength and agility. The motorcycle boasts a long wheelbase of 1,440mm, contributing to its stability, especially at high speeds. With a segment-leading ground clearance of 178mm, the bike is well-suited for a variety of terrains, making it a versatile option for riders who enjoy both city commuting and weekend getaways.

The diamond-cut alloy wheels, shod with tubeless tyres, not only add to the bike’s aesthetics but also enhance its performance by reducing unsprung weight. The larger disc brakes, paired with dual-channel ABS, ensure that the motorcycle has excellent stopping power, providing riders with greater confidence and safety.

Market Position and Competitors

With its combination of classic design and modern features, the Jawa 42 FJ 350 is positioned to compete directly with the likes of Royal Enfield’s Hunter 350 and Classic 350. The motorcycle’s aggressive pricing, coupled with its unique design and robust performance, makes it a compelling option for buyers in the mid-range motorcycle segment.

The Jawa 42 FJ 350 represents a fusion of Jawa’s rich heritage and modern engineering. With its competitive pricing, advanced features, and striking design, it is poised to attract a wide range of motorcycle enthusiasts in India. Bookings for the motorcycle are now open, and deliveries are expected to begin shortly.
