Taking centre stage at the Taj Palace in Delhi, the collaboration brough to life a sensorial exploration of how colour can transform not just spaces, but the very spirit of design.

For over 150 years, Kohler has championed design innovation and artistry, becoming synonymous with bold choices and enduring aesthetics. With ‘Colours by Kohler,’ the brand has redefined how colour is used in bathrooms, turning functional spaces into personal expressions of mood and identity. This season, Kohler unveils three evocative new hues—Honed Lush, Teakberry, Honed Black each telling a unique story. In addition to these Kohler also launched its “Wild at Heart” design series which is a tribute to the brand’s belief that design should be untamed, expressive, and deeply personal. These hues were brought to life in Aisha Rao’s couture showcase titled “Wild at Heart”, a visual symphony of maximalist beauty and storytelling.

The show space, created in collaboration with Kohler, featured sculptural installations in Honed Lush, Teakberry, Honed Black, Peacock, and Brushed Rose Gold, set against towering gold palms. The stage and Aisha Rao’s collection brought together natural elements and luxurious design, where the beauty of the outdoors met the sophistication of interiors, creating a space that felt both grounded and dreamlike.

Speaking about thedynamic partnership, Ranjeet Oak, Managing Director –South Asia, Kohler Co shared, “Bringing together the worlds of luxury bath design and high fashion has been an exciting and enriching journey. At Kohler, we’ve always viewed colour as a language, one that conveys emotion, sparks imagination, and transforms spaces. Aisha Rao’s bold, expressive, and narrative-led aesthetic perfectly echoes our design philosophy. Together, we’re celebrating the idea that colour is not just a visual element but a powerful form of storytelling that transcends categories, turning fashion as well as interiors into immersive, personal statements.”

Designer Aisha Rao added, Collaborating with Kohler was a natural extension of my design journey. Their colour palette offered a fresh canvas to experiment with, especially shades like Honed Lush and Teakberry and the Wild at Heart design that felt almost cinematic in their mood. Incorporating these hues into both garments and stage design allowed me to build an immersive, fantastical world where couture and interiors breathe the same air.”

With this showcase at India Couture Week, Kohler reinforces its position not just as a purveyor of luxury bath solutions, but as a cultural tastemaker, bridging architecture, fashion, and art through the powerful medium of colour.

Pay Transparency: Salary disclosure in Indian job postings is growing https://thetimesofhindustan.com/pay-transparency-salary-disclosure-in-indian-job-postings-is-growing/ https://thetimesofhindustan.com/pay-transparency-salary-disclosure-in-indian-job-postings-is-growing/#respond Tue, 29 Jul 2025 22:13:00 +0000 https://thetimesofhindustan.com/?p=7746 Bengaluru: According to new data from Indeed, salary transparency isbecoming a common feature in job postings. But despite continued growth in salary transparency overall, some sectors and roles remain more opaque than others when it comes to disclosing pay information.

Salary transparency is becoming a defining feature of job postings in India. In early 2025, the share of job postings that include salary information on Indeed India crossed the 50% mark, up from just 26% in March 2022 and 47% by the end of 2023. This change is largely fueled by job seekers who value clarity, fairness, and informed decisions when exploring opportunities.

Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales, Indeed India, said, “While disclosing pay early is becoming a key advantage in attracting talent, there’s still more work to be done to make salary transparency the norm.”

“Once considered a nice-to-have, it is fast becoming a core pillar of modern employer branding. In fact, in a competitive market, transparency is the new currency for attracting top talent,” said Kumar

Remote jobs and junior- mid-level roles remain the most transparent

A recent survey at Indeed shows that salary transparency is particularly common in remote and hybrid job postings. Data indicates that a significant percentage of these flexible roles now include salary details. Because remote and hybrid positions often attract candidates from various geographies and markets, clear and upfront pay expectations are crucial for employers to successfully reach and engage qualified talent across different locations.

Salary transparency also varies significantly across job levels. Senior leadership roles remain the least transparent, with only 13% revealing the salary brackets. Junior and mid-level roles show the highest levels of disclosure, with 32% of postings including pay information. This is likely because these positions often attract a high volume of applicants, and upfront salary details help employers filter and engage the right candidates faster. Following closely are the entry-level roles, with 28% disclosing salary, reflecting efforts to appeal to younger job seekers who increasingly prioritise transparency.

Industries Leading the Charge
Several sectors are now embracing salary transparency more proactively, particularly IT products and services, Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI), Consulting, Manufacturing, Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals, and Consumer Goods and Retail. Across these industries, 35% of job postings now include pay information. From the employer’s perspective, this shift is helping reduce time-to-hire, improve applicant quality, and stay competitive in a tight labour market.

According to Indeed’s data, 62% of job seekers prefer listings that include salary details. Transparent postings consistently receive more clicks, saves, and high-quality applications than those without pay information, highlighting the growing importance of openness in attracting top talent.

Methodology
This analysis is based on job postings published on Indeed India from March 2022 to June 2025 and is based on a survey conducted by Valuvox with 1,157 employers and 2,559 job seekers and employees.

AWS launches Space Accelerator program across India, Australia, and Japan https://thetimesofhindustan.com/aws-launches-space-accelerator-program-across-india-australia-and-japan/ https://thetimesofhindustan.com/aws-launches-space-accelerator-program-across-india-australia-and-japan/#respond Wed, 09 Jul 2025 13:07:12 +0000 https://thetimesofhindustan.com/?p=7395 Today, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the launch of AWS Space Accelerator: APJ 2025, a program designed to support startups across Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) that are focused on space technology—catalyzing innovation and propelling the growing space economy in the Asia Pacific region. The 10-week accelerator will provide up to 40 selected startups with dedicated business resources, expertise, and guidance around technology and business capabilities, to help them leverage AWS to build, grow, and scale their missions.

The accelerator is open to space-sector startups at all stages that are based in India, Australia, New Zealand, or Japan. Participants can leverage the program to build their technology platforms, scale their operations, and pursue investment opportunities.

Applications for the AWS Space Accelerator: APJ will be open from July 8, 2025, to September 5, 2025.

The AWS Space Accelerator: APJ 2025 will be delivered in collaboration with AWS partners T-Hub, Minfy, Fusic, and Ansys along with leading space organizations including IN-SPACe,  the Australia Space Agency, iLAuNCH, and SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation.

This accelerator builds upon the successful AWS Space Accelerator: India in 2024, which supported 24 space tech startups. Through the 2024 program, these companies enhanced their solutions across multiple domains, including spacecraft propulsion, orbital and launch vehicles, satellite imagery, geospatial applications, and space tourism. Graduates achieved significant milestones: several secured customer contracts for their innovative geospatial solutions, while others secured investment and made notable advancements in propulsion technology and quantum key distribution.

Supporting a growing space economy

The expansion comes at a time when the space sector is experiencing significant growth across the Asia Pacific region. India’s space industry is projected to grow from USD $8 billion in 2022 to USD $44 billion by 2033.

Space tech startups face significant challenges, including high capital requirements for technology development and testing, plus the need for specialized talent. The AWS Space Accelerator helps these startups reduce risks by enabling them to build and test solutions using a wide range of AWS technologies and services before making major capital investments. This approach allows participants to experiment rapidly and cost-effectively, validating and refining their innovations before moving to full-scale launch and deployment.

The AWS Space Accelerator: APJ 2025 seeks startups innovating in the following areas:

  1. Earth observation and remote sensing: Startups that are harnessing satellite imagery and sensor data to support various sectors, including agriculture, climate monitoring, disaster response, and infrastructure planning. Their innovations make space-derived data more actionable and accessible for a wide range of applications.
  2. Manufacturing, launch and operations for space infrastructure: Startups that focus on cost-effective satellite manufacturing, propulsion, and launch innovations that enable flexible, sustainable, and scalable access to space.
  3. Drone technology: Startups that are building advanced drones and high-altitude operational systems that complement satellites—enhancing data coverage, environmental monitoring, and communication in remote areas.

These focus areas align with the rapidly expanding space economy while addressing urgent global challenges such as climate resilience, space sustainability, and data accessibility. By leveraging AWS cloud technologies, startups in these fields are developing scalable, cost-effective solutions to real-world problems through innovative space-based applications.

The 10-week accelerator program will be delivered virtually and in-person starting in September 2025, culminating in a demo day in December 2025, where selected startups will present and showcase their innovative solutions. Selected startups will receive:

  • Up to $100,000 in AWS credits as part of AWS Activate
  • Technical guidance from AWS experts and partners to build solutions on AWS
  • Business coaching and mentorship from experienced industry leaders
  • Connections to venture capital firms and potential customers
  • Access to space industry leaders

Accelerating innovation through partnerships

The AWS Space Accelerator: APJ 2025 will be delivered in collaboration with leading organizations across the region. In India, the following organizations will collaborate with AWS for the program:

  • T-Hub, India’s leading startup ecosystem enabler, will manage the overall program and host the initiative in India.
  • Minfy Technologies, an AWS Premier Partner and 2024 Aerospace and Satellite Partner of the Year, will deliver AWS education and technical support in India and Australia.
  • IN-SPACe (Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre), an independent, autonomous agency under the Department of Space (DoS) in India, established to facilitate and promote private sector participation in the space sector.

“The collaboration with Australian Space Agency, IN-SPACe, iLAuNCH, and Sky Perfect JSAT underscores our commitment to working with local space agencies and industry leaders to support the growth of the space economy in their respective countries,” said Clint Crosier, director of the Aerospace and Satellite business at AWS. “Through this accelerator program, we’re not just supporting individual startups, we’re helping to build a robust community that can drive economic growth and technological advancement throughout the region.”

Indeed’s PayMap Survey: Emerging Cities Are India’s New Salary Hotspots https://thetimesofhindustan.com/indeeds-paymap-survey-emerging-cities-are-indias-new-salary-hotspots/ https://thetimesofhindustan.com/indeeds-paymap-survey-emerging-cities-are-indias-new-salary-hotspots/#respond Thu, 03 Jul 2025 17:24:00 +0000 https://thetimesofhindustan.com/?p=7306 Bangalore, 3rd July 2025—Indeed’s inaugural PayMap Survey reveals a significant shift in India’s salary landscape. Cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Ahmedabad are emerging as the new hotspots for career-driven compensation growth, outperforming legacy economic hubs. While employees across the country have seen an average salary increase of nearly 15% in the past year, the most promising growth stories are playing out beyond the traditional economic centres.

The survey is based on responses from 1,311 employers and 2,531 employees, aimed to understand evolving salary benchmarks, sectoral trends, and worker sentiment in a post-pandemic economy. Chennai leads the entry-level salary chart, with freshers (0–2 years) earning ₹30,100 per month across sectors. Hyderabad, on the other hand, offers the highest mid or senior-level salaries, with professionals earning up to ₹69,700 per month at the 5 to 8 years of experience mark. Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales at Indeed India, said, “The salary dynamics are shifting, and employees are increasingly prioritising cities where compensation aligns with both cost of living and career potential. Our data shows that growth is no longer confined to just the biggest metros, opportunity is becoming more distributed.”

The PayMap Survey highlights notable variations in salaries across Indian cities based on experience levels. At the entry level (0–2 years), Chennai offers the highest average monthly salary at ₹30,100, followed by Hyderabad and Mumbai, both at ₹28,500. Bengaluru is close behind at ₹28,400. Ahmedabad and Kolkata also perform reasonably well, offering ₹27,300 and ₹27,400 respectively, while Pune follows at ₹27,200. Chandigarh and Delhi provide the lowest entry-level pay, both at ₹26,300.

For professionals with 2–5 years of experience, Hyderabad leads with an average monthly salary of ₹47,200. Chennai is next at ₹46,600, followed by Ahmedabad at ₹46,200. Bengaluru offers ₹46,000, Mumbai ₹45,700, and Chandigarh ₹45,500. Salaries in Kolkata and Pune stand at ₹44,900 and ₹44,600 respectively, with Delhi again at the bottom, offering ₹43,600.

In the 5–8 years experience category, Hyderabad again tops the chart with ₹69,700 per month, followed by Ahmedabad at ₹69,000 and Chandigarh at ₹68,400. Bengaluru follows at ₹67,100, while Chennai and Mumbai both offer ₹66,400. Kolkata’s senior professionals earn ₹66,000, Pune offers ₹65,500, and Delhi ranks lowest at ₹64,400.

The survey also indicates that 69% of employees feel their income doesn’t keep pace with the cost of living in their city. This disparity is most pronounced in high-expense metros such as Delhi (96%), Mumbai (95%), Pune (94%), and Bangalore (93%). Meanwhile, cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata are perceived as more affordable, offering relatively better financial breathing room. The rising cost of urban life isn’t the only deterrent — 69% of employees now express reluctance to relocate, citing not just monetary challenges but also the emotional and practical demands of moving.

Changing Face of Pay: High-Growth Roles and Rewarding Sectors At a sector level, IT/ITeS continues to dominate the salary landscape across all experience levels, driven by the ongoing demand for digital and AI-led roles. The other two sectors showcasing strong salary figures are manufacturing and telecom, from entry level to senior levels, with salaries ranging from ₹28,100 to ₹28,300 for freshers to ₹67,700 to ₹68,200 for 5-8 years of experience.

The PayMap Survey also outlines salary trends across key industry sectors in India. Among freshers (0–2 years of experience), the IT/ITeS sector offers the highest average monthly salary at ₹28,600, followed by Manufacturing at ₹28,300 and Telecommunications at ₹28,100. Logistics and E-commerce offer ₹27,600 and ₹27,700 respectively, while Healthcare & Pharma and BFSI pay ₹27,400 and ₹27,300. The Automobile sector provides ₹27,000 at the entry level. On the lower end, Consumer Durables pays ₹26,200, Media & Entertainment offers ₹26,700, and Construction & Real Estate has the lowest starting salary at ₹26,000.

For professionals with 2–5 years of experience, the IT/ITeS sector again leads with ₹46,900, followed by Manufacturing at ₹46,400 and Telecommunications at ₹46,100. Bengaluru, listed in the table as a sector for comparison, also stands at ₹46,000. Logistics and E-commerce follow closely at ₹45,300 and ₹45,600. Healthcare & Pharma and BFSI each offer ₹44,900, while Automobile pays ₹44,400. Salaries are slightly lower in Media & Entertainment (₹43,900), Consumer Durables (₹43,100), and Construction & Real Estate (₹42,600).

At the senior level (5–8 years of experience), Product & Project Management roles within IT/ITeS remain the highest-paying at ₹68,900 per month. Manufacturing follows at ₹68,200, with Telecommunications offering ₹67,700. Bengaluru, again listed for reference, offers ₹67,100. E-commerce and Logistics provide ₹66,900 and ₹66,500, while Healthcare & Pharma and BFSI offer ₹66,000 and ₹65,900 respectively. 83% of Organisations in India Have Appointed Chief AI Officers to Fast-Track Generative AI Innovation, AWS Study Reveals https://thetimesofhindustan.com/83-of-organisations-in-india-have-appointed-chief-ai-officers-to-fast-track-generative-ai-innovation-aws-study-reveals/ https://thetimesofhindustan.com/83-of-organisations-in-india-have-appointed-chief-ai-officers-to-fast-track-generative-ai-innovation-aws-study-reveals/#respond Thu, 19 Jun 2025 17:40:00 +0000 https://thetimesofhindustan.com/?p=7127 In 2025, more organisations in India will prioritise investments in generative AI (64%) followed by security (21%) and compute (10%) combined

INDIA—June 19, 2025 — Amazon Web Services (AWS) today released a study commissioned in collaboration with Access Partnership, which reveals that generative AI (Gen AI) adoption in India surged in 2024. A top finding is that 83% of organisations in India have appointed a dedicated AI executive, namely a Chief AI Officer (CAIO), to accelerate adoption and manage implementation complexity, with another 15% planning to do so by 2026. The research study titled, Generative AI Adoption Index” identifies patterns and insights from organisations in India successfully moving Gen AI from experimentation to full-scale implementation, revealing actionable strategies for accelerating business value.

While Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), and Chief Innovation Officers (CIOs) currently lead most generative AI innovation initiatives, leadership structures are evolving to meet new demands and creating new career opportunities for AI-skilled talent at the highest levels of organisations. The appointment of a dedicated AI executive is a result of organisations having Gen AI as the top priority in their budget for 2025 (64%), followed by security (21%) and compute (10%).

“We see a growing recognition of AI as a transformative technology that requires strategic leadership at the highest levels and a structured approach to change management,” said Satinder Pal Singh, Head of Solution Architecture, AWS India and South Asia. “For India, this is not merely about technology adoption; it’s about cultivating a mindset of continuous innovation and harnessing AI as a strategic lever to reimagine customer experiences and rearchitect how work gets done.”

The study surveyed 415 senior IT decision-makers in India across industries such as financial services, information and communications technology, manufacturing, and retail.

Key insights uncovered include:

Dedicated AI leadership positions to drive organisational-wide transformation

  • Executing an organisation-wide AI strategy and fostering a culture of AI innovation through effective change management is a priority.
  • While 75% of organisations do not have a change management strategy to help employees navigate a future shaped by Gen AI today, the number is expected to drop to 9% by the end of 2026.

Extensive Gen AI integration in workflows

  • 43% of organisations have fully integrated Gen AI into their workflows, reflecting India’s accelerating pace of AI-powered transformation at scale.
  • Gen AI adoption in India is near universal, with 98% of organisations using Gen AI tools, with 95% actively experimenting to unlock new applications. 49% of these experiments are expected to move to production in 2025.

Bridging the Gen AI talent gap

  • 81% of organisations have developed Gen AI training plans, while 11% will develop one by the end of 2025 to meet the growing demand for AI talent.
  • IT decision makers cite three key hurdles in developing training plans: limited understanding of employees’ generative AI skilling needs, uncertainty about effective implementation, and budget constraints. Given these limitations, training alone is unlikely to bridge the skills gap.
  • Demand for generative AI talent in India will be widespread, with 99% of organisations expecting to hire for roles requiring generative AI skills in 2025.

Adopting a blended approach to drive Gen AI business transformation

  • Organisations are increasingly combining their proprietary data with customisation capabilities to achieve efficiency, scalability, and high performance, all while keeping their data safe during AI adoption.
  • While 62% plan to deploy custom applications on out-of-the-box models, 71% aim to deploy custom applications on fine-tuned pre-existing models with proprietary data for greater performance and scalability in 2025. 42% of organisations will use of out-of-the-box models with little or no customization.
  • Partnerships are pivotal, with 45% planning to use a mix of in-house and third-party vendors for deployment, while only 15% intend to rely solely on external vendors.

How AWS is helping customers accelerate Gen AI gains

To help organisations accelerate Gen AI adoption, AWS launched the Generative AI Innovation Center, a $100 million investment that connects organisations with AWS AI experts through free workshops, engagements, and training. AWS is also addressing the critical AI skills gap through comprehensive training initiatives, including AWS Skill Builder, which offers more than 80 free Gen AI courses and learning paths as part of AWS’s commitment to train millions of people globally in AI and machine learning by 2025. Additionally, the AWS Partner Network provides organisations with access to thousands of experienced consulting and technology partners, such as TCS, Infosys, and Wipro, who can help accelerate AI adoption with industry-specific expertise.
