New Delhi: India celebrated its inaugural National Space Day on Friday, marking the historic achievement of ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 mission, which successfully executed a soft landing on the lunar surface. This milestone not only highlighted India’s growing capabilities in space exploration but also underscored the critical contributions of various sectors in making the mission a success.

Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries, H.D. Kumaraswamy, took the occasion to commend the role of four Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) under his ministry that played a pivotal part in the Chandrayaan-3 mission. In a post shared on the social media platform ‘X’, Kumaraswamy expressed his pride in the involvement of these CPSEs, which supplied essential products that were integral to the mission’s success.

The CPSEs mentioned by the minister include Instrumentation Ltd. (IL), the Fluid Control Research Institute (FCRI), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL), and Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT). These enterprises, under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, contributed critical components and expertise, showcasing the vital role of public sector enterprises in supporting India’s ambitious space endeavors.

Kumaraswamy’s recognition of these organizations highlights the importance of collaboration between government agencies, public sector enterprises, and scientific institutions in advancing the nation’s technological capabilities. Their contributions were not only instrumental in the success of Chandrayaan-3 but also serve as a testament to the collective effort required to achieve such significant milestones in space exploration.

As India continues to celebrate the success of Chandrayaan-3, the acknowledgment of these CPSEs by the Union Minister reinforces the crucial role that various sectors play in propelling the nation’s space program to new heights.
