New Delhi: Oppo has launched its latest flagship series in India, introducing the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro smartphones. The Oppo Reno 12 is priced at Rs 32,999, while the Reno 12 Pro starts at Rs 36,999. Both models share a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. However, their designs and features differ significantly. The Reno 12 Pro 5G is available in Sunset Gold and Space Brown, while the Reno 12 comes in Sunset Peach, Matte Brown, and Astro Silver.

Oppo Reno 12 Series: Price and Availability

The Oppo Reno 12 series has finally debuted in India. The Oppo Reno 12 5G, priced at Rs 32,999 for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, will be available from July 25 onwards. The Reno 12 Pro starts at Rs 36,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, with a 12GB+512GB variant priced at Rs 40,999.

Oppo is offering several discount options, including up to Rs 4,000 instant cashback and up to 9 months of no-cost EMI. The devices will be available on Oppo’s official website, Flipkart, and other retail stores.

Oppo Reno 12 Series: Key Features

The Reno 12 series introduces a Quad-Micro Curved Infinite View screen with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 in the Pro variant and Gorilla Glass 7i in the base model for enhanced durability. Both models feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1200 nits.

Durability and Protection

The series boasts All-Round Armour protection to enhance resistance to drops and impacts. The High-Strength Alloy Framework, comprising metals like copper, magnesium, and silicon, ensures a sturdy and corrosion-resistant build meeting aerospace quality standards. Both devices are IP65-rated for dust and water resistance with reinforced components such as speakers, USB-C port, and SIM card tray.

Performance and Battery

The Reno 12 series is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC. The octa-core CPU ensures seamless usability and extended battery life. The MediaTek APU 655 boosts AI performance, enabling innovative features like AI Clear Face, AI Writer, AI Recording Summary, and AI Eraser 2.0.

Both models feature a large 5000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support, promising four years of battery durability, making them reliable for long-term use.

Oppo Reno 12 Pro

The Reno 12 Pro has been tested by SGS for Premium Performance 5 Stars Multi-scene protection, covering water and shock resistance. Available in Sunset Gold and Space Brown, it features a Panda Glass back with a dual texture. The Pro version’s main 50MP camera, with Sony’s LYT-600 sensor and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), is complemented by a 50MP telephoto camera with the Samsung JN5 sensor. For selfies, the Reno 12 Pro comes with the 50MP JN5 sensor.

Oppo Reno 12 5G

The Reno 12 carries the SGS Performance 5 Stars Multiscene Performance rating, including low blue light and a flicker-free screen to prevent eye fatigue. Available in Sunset Peach, Matte Brown, and Astro Silver, it features a 2MP macro camera for shots as close as 4cm and a 32MP front-facing camera by GalaxyCore for detailed selfies.

The Amazon listing for the Redmi 13C 5G offers insights into its expected features, revealing a 50 MP primary camera and availability in Stardust Black and Star Shine Green color options. Anticipated specifications include a 6.74-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 450 nits. Powering the device is likely to be a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, coupled with a Mali G52 GPU. Storage variants are expected to include 4GB RAM/128GB storage, 6GB RAM/128GB storage, and 8GB RAM/256GB storage.

Drawing from the Nigerian launch, the Redmi 13C is anticipated to run on Xiaomi’s custom Android skin MIUI 14 based on Android 13. Camera specifications may feature a dual rear setup with a 50MP primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture), a 2MP macro camera (f/2.4 aperture), and an 8MP front camera (f/2.0 aperture) for selfies and video calls.

In terms of pricing, converting the Nigerian prices to rupees suggests that the Redmi 13C with 4GB RAM is expected to start around ₹10,000, while the 8GB RAM variant may launch around the ₹11,000 mark. Redmi aims to offer an affordable yet feature-rich smartphone in the competitive ₹10,000 segment, further solidifying its position in the Indian market.
