This special edition is based on the top-of-the-line Z8 trim and gets several upgrades to tackle tough terrain:

• Beefed Up Protection: Steel bumpers replace the regular ones, improving approach and departure angles. They also come with built-in recovery points for towing. A metal skid plate protects the underbody from rough trails.
  
• Ready to Roam: A roof rack is standard for extra cargo space, and the suspension gets a lift for better ground clearance. All-terrain tyres provide a better grip on off-road adventures.
  
• Standard 4WD: Unlike other Scorpio N models in South Africa, the Adventure Edition comes with four-wheel drive as standard, including a shift-on-the-fly system for adapting to changing conditions. It also boasts four traction modes for normal, snow, mud, sand, and rock.

The Adventure Edition gets the same 2.2-litre diesel engine with 175 horsepower and 400Nm of torque found in other South African Scorpio N models. However, it’s only available with a 6-speed automatic transmission and standard 4WD.

While the Adventure Edition costs slightly more than the top-spec Z8L (around Rs 29.5 lakh vs Rs 27.8 lakh), it comes packed with factory-installed off-road goodies, making it a tempting option for adventure enthusiasts in South Africa. However, there’s no word on whether Mahindra plans to bring this rugged version to other markets, including India.
