1947 Partition Horrors: PM Modi Remembers Victims, Celebrates Human Spirit

New Delhi: On Wednesday, PM Narendra Modi led the nation in remembering the victims of the 1947 partition on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also marked the occasion, paying homage to those who suffered during the partition. He described the partition as one of the most painful episodes in India’s history, stressing that remembering it is essential for the nation’s future. “On Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, my homage to the millions who suffered inhumane pains, lost lives, and turned homeless during this most hideous episode of our history,” Shah wrote on X. He added that observing this day is a critical step in the process of nation-building under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
