ConveGenius Empowers 100 Million Students with AWS

New Delhi: Amazon Web Services (AWS) India Private Limited has partnered with ConveGenius, an Indian edtech social enterprise, to develop SwiftChat, a conversational AI chatbot platform designed for government and low-fee private schools, on AWS. SwiftChat utilizes AWS cloud services to offer personalized learning content in 13 regional languages to over 100 million K-12 students across India through more than 53 chatbots. The platform, with 124 million student profiles across 19 million devices, enables government schools to create omnichannel chatbots for tailored learning experiences, teacher training and data-driven decision-making, ultimately ensuring a healthy teacher-to-student ratio.

India’s National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023 prioritizes personalized learning. ConveGenius, in partnership with AWS, is assisting Indian state governments in implementing the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) centralized system to track student enrollment, participation and learning progress. VSK benefits 9.5 million teachers at 1.5 million government-run schools across India. The VSK toolkit, featuring multiple SwiftChat conversational AI chatbots has been deployed in 14 states, including Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand. SwiftChat collects school data, allowing states to identify learning gaps and improve education at the school, block, and district levels.

In 2021, ConveGenius migrated its SwiftChat platform to AWS from its previous cloud provider, allowing it to efficiently handle a 154-fold increase in users. By utilizing Amazon EC2 and optimizing costs with AWS Graviton2 processors, ConveGenius achieved a 45% reduction in IT infrastructure expenses.

Jairaj Bhattacharya, co-founder and CEO of ConveGenius, stated, “SwiftChat empowers millions of students and teachers with personalized learning and data-driven insights. Leveraging AWS cloud services, we scaled to over 100 million students and achieved a 45% cost savings. This chatbot platform is transformative for India’s education sector, providing personalized content in multiple languages, improving teacher training and optimizing resource allocation in schools. We continue to innovate on AWS, exploring technologies like generative AI to enhance student value.”

Pankaj Gupta, Leader – Public Sector at AWS India Private Limited, highlighted the transformative impact of cloud technologies, AI and data analytics in India’s education sector. He praised ConveGenius’ SwiftChat platform, powered by AWS, for redefining K-12 education by enabling personalized learning for government school students, ultimately supporting the government’s vision of inclusive and high-quality education for over 100 million students in India.

To help deliver the e-learning solution at scale, ConveGenius utilizes Amazon Redshift for scalable data analysis, enabling insights into student attendance, behavior, preferences, and coursework to enhance learning outcomes. Using Amazon QuickSight, a cloud-based business intelligence service, ConveGenius creates user-friendly, customizable, and interactive visual dashboards that make understanding a vast array of school data easy for administrators and teachers. ConveGenius also uses AWS security services like AWS Shield Advanced, AWS WAF, AWS Key Management Service (AWS KMS), Amazon GuardDuty, and AWS Security Hub, running the company’s educational offerings in a compliant way while keeping student and school data secure.
