New Delhi: Rolls-Royce, the icon of opulence in the automotive world, has launched its much-awaited electric vehicle, the Spectre, in India at a staggering price of Rs 7.5 crore, making it the country’s most expensive four-wheeler EV for private buyers. This ex-showroom price, excluding optional features, puts the Specter in a league of its own in the electric passenger vehicle segment.

The Spectre’s premium tag is justified by its cutting-edge technology and great features. Powered by a massive 102kWh battery pack, the EV claims an impressive range of 530 km on the WLTP cycle. Charging is efficient, with the 195kW charger taking the battery from 10-80 percent in just 34 minutes, while the 50kW DC charger requires 95 minutes.

Under the hood, the Specter has two electric motors, one on each axle, producing a combined output of 585hp and 900Nm. Acceleration is brisk, with the 2,890 kg Specter reaching 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The EV is built on Rolls-Royce’s all-aluminum spaceframe architecture, ensuring strength and efficiency.

Design-wise, the Specter maintains Rolls-Royce’s signature silhouette and introduces aerodynamic elements inspired by modern yacht concepts. The front grille, illuminated by 22 LEDs, is the widest ever seen on a Rolls-Royce. The fastback tail and aero-optimized 23-inch wheels contribute to the car’s aerodynamic efficiency, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.25.

Inside the Spectre, the opulence continues with a starlight liner integrated into the door pads, wood paneling options and a dashboard panel illuminated by the ‘Spectre’ nameplate. The vehicle features Rolls-Royce’s new software platform, ‘Spirit’, offering an intuitive digital interface and connected car technology, a departure from the BMW-derived infotainment used in previous models.

Rolls-Royce has not only entered the electric vehicle market but has also redefined luxury and innovation with the Spectre, creating an unmatched driving experience for the elite.
