Bhohat Kasol set to become New Tourism Hub in Himachal Pradesh Offers Over 20 Activities

New Delhi:The quaint village of Bhohat Kasol, situated in the scenic Bilaspur district, is poised for a major transformation. Deputy Commissioner Abid Hussain Sadiq, along with a team of officials, has recognized the area’s potential and is working on an ambitious plan to turn Bhohat Kasol into a bustling rural tourism destination. Located near the tranquil Kol Dam, the village benefits from the dam’s consistent water levels, offering unique year-round tourism prospects.

The development plan for Bhohat Kasol aims to offer a diverse range of over 20 adventure activities, all while showcasing the authentic rural lifestyle of the region. This initiative is designed to provide urban tourists with a peaceful retreat from their hectic lives, allowing them to experience the serene beauty and simplicity of rural Himachal Pradesh.

The rising interest in lesser-known destinations within the state indicates a shift in tourist preferences. Areas like Solan have begun to eclipse traditional favorites such as Shimla, suggesting a growing desire among travelers to explore the state’s hidden gems. The first half of 2024 has already seen a notable 3.5% increase in tourism, with over 74 lakh visitors. Particularly noteworthy is the surge in foreign tourists, with numbers climbing from 23,174 in 2023 to 32,415 in 2024. This trend highlights the expanding global appeal of Himachal Pradesh’s diverse offerings.

As Bhohat Kasol’s transformation progresses, it is expected to become a model for sustainable rural tourism. The development not only promises to enhance the local economy but also aims to maintain the area’s natural and cultural charm. For those seeking both adventure and tranquility, Bhohat Kasol is set to emerge as a must-visit destination in Himachal Pradesh.
