Rezang La Shaurya Yatra 2025 Concludes at National War Memorial, New Delhi

New Delhi, 2 August 2025: The Rezang La Shaurya Yatra – 2025, organised to honour the birth centenary year of Param Vir Chakra awardee Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, concluded successfully today at the National War Memorial, New Delhi. The closing ceremony was held from 10:15 AM to 11:30 AM, marking the end of a deeply patriotic and historic journey.

This remarkable yatra began on 17 June 2025 from Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Over the course of the journey, the delegation visited and honoured the families of the Rezang La war martyrs across Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab. On 23 July, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Sawan Shivratri, the Yatra reached Rezang La Ahir Dhamin Chushul, Leh–Ladakh, where sacred Ganga Jal was offered through a Kanwar – symbolising national pride, sacrifice, and unity.

The closing ceremony was graced by distinguished guests: Havaldar Nihal Singh, Havaldar Gaje Singh Yadav, and Captain Ramchandra Yadav all brave survivors of the great battle fought by the Charley Company of 13 Kumaon regiment of Indian Army in 1962 war with China. The event was presided over by Shri Narpat Singh Bhati, son of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati PVC .Several brave veterans like Capt Kunwar Vikram Singh Chairman CAPSI, Lt Gen Ashok Shivane, Lt Gen V K Chaturvedi, Maj Gen Gautam Deb , Lt Col R K Rao, Dr Maj TS Rao Lt Col OP Yadav, Col TS Yadav, Adv Naresh Chauhan , Capt Allroy Collaco and families of martyred soldiers paid their tributes at he wreath laying ceremony.

The Yatra was organised under the leadership of Shri Sawan Singh Rohilla by Shaheed Seva Dal Foundation (Regd.), Gohana, Haryana. It was supported by Major Shaitan Singh Rezang La Shaurya Samiti (Bhopur, Rajasthan) and RezangLa Shaurya Samiti (Regd.), Rewari, Haryana.

Kunwar Vikram Singh, Chairman of the Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI), said: Today, we have all gathered here to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the Battle of Rezang La. This Shaurya Yatra began from Jodhpur and reached Chushul, where sacred Ganga Jal was offered as a mark of respect and remembrance. It is a matter of great pride for us that two living witnesses of that historic battle are present among us today. On behalf of CAPSI, we pledge that wherever stories of such courage and sacrifice live on, we will be there — to honour, preserve, and pass them on to the next generation. Jai Hind!

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from citizens, youth, and families of martyrs, all united in paying heartfelt tribute to the nation’s bravehearts. It stood as a powerful reminder of India’s rich legacy of courage and sacrifice, and a proud moment of national inspiration.
