Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z vs Bajaj Dominar 400: A Comparative Analysis

Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z vs Bajaj Dominar 400

New Delhi: Bajaj Auto has recently introduced the Pulsar NS400Z in India, marking it as the most robust and potent Pulsar model in the country. Built on the Dominar platform, it shares the same engine and chassis as its older sibling, the Dominar 400. Let’s delve into the differences between these two models:

1. Design: The Pulsar NS400Z exhibits a fresh and sporty design, resembling the NS200 with sharper detailing and distinctive elements. In contrast, the Dominar 400 maintains a muscular and robust appearance but has lacked significant design evolution since its 2017 launch.

2. Features: Bajaj has equipped the Pulsar NS400Z with advanced features such as switchable traction control, ride-by-wire throttle, four ride modes, Bluetooth connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation. These features set it apart from the Dominar 400, which lacks such technological advancements.

3. Dimensions: A notable distinction lies in the wheelbase, with the NS400Z having a shorter wheelbase of 1,343mm compared to the Dominar 400. Additionally, the NS400Z is 18kgs lighter, enhancing its manoeuvrability and agility, especially in corners and traffic situations.

4. Engine: Both motorcycles share the same 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, albeit with slight tuning differences. While power and torque outputs are similar, the NS400Z’s larger rear sprocket provides better acceleration in the low-end and mid-range.

5. Price: Despite offering more features, the Pulsar NS400Z comes at a lower price of Rs. 1.85 Lakh (ex-showroom) compared to its elder sibling, the Dominar 400. This significant price difference offers exceptional value for money, making the NS400Z an attractive option for buyers.
