New Delhi: BMW India has commenced bookings for the all-electric i5 sedan, available both online and at dealerships. The i5 will be introduced in limited numbers as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) model.

  • The i5 will be offered in the top-end M60 xDrive guise.
  • It features a smaller wheelbase compared to the next-gen ICE 5 Series.
  • The sedan boasts a range of 516km (WLTP).
  • Globally available in two variants – eDrive 40 and M60 xDrive.
  • The M60 xDrive variant features electric motors on each axle, delivering a combined output of 601hp and 820Nm torque.
  • Accelerates from 0-100kph in just 3.8 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 230kph.
  • Equipped with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system as standard.
  • Comes with an 81.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
  • The India-bound M60 xDrive variant offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 516km on a single charge.
  • Standard 11kW AC charger, upgradable to 22kW with an optional onboard charger.
  • Features 205kW DC charging capability, allowing a 10-80 percent charge within 30 minutes.
  • BMW is yet to disclose the pricing of the i5 M60 xDrive.
  • Expected to command a significant premium over its ICE counterpart, possibly touching the Rs 1 crore mark.
  • Deliveries will be prioritized on a first-come-first-served basis, starting May 2024.
