BMW Launches Shadow Edition of the 2 Series Gran Coupe in India
New Delhi: BMW India has introduced a new special edition of the 2 Series Gran Coupe, called the Shadow Edition. This sportier version starts at Rs 46.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and is based on the 220i M Sport trim.
What makes the Shadow Edition different?
The Shadow Edition gets a more aggressive look with several blacked-out elements. This includes the iconic kidney grille, headlamp surrounds, rear spoiler, and even the floating hub caps. Inside, the cabin gets a unique touch with the “Illuminated Berlin” trim and a carbon fibre gear selector.
Engine and Transmission
Under the hood, the Shadow Edition retains the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine from the 220i M Sport, producing 179 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 7.1 seconds.
Colour Options and Availability
This special edition is available in two colors: Alpine White and a new Skyscraper Grey. Bookings for the limited-run Shadow Edition are now open exclusively through the BMW online shop.
Price
The Shadow Edition carries a premium of Rs 3 lakh over the standard 220i M Sport and Rs 1 lakh more than the 220i M Sport Pro. It is important to note that the regular 2 Series Gran Coupe also offers a 2.0-litre diesel engine option, not available in the Shadow Edition.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Shadow Edition offers a sportier aesthetic for those seeking a more aggressive look for their car. With its limited availability and unique features, this new edition might be a tempting option for BMW enthusiasts in India.
