BYD Seal India Specifications Unveiled: What to Expect
New Delhi: As BYD prepares to unveil its third offering in India on March 5, details about the specifications of the Sealed EV have emerged. Set to arrive in India as a full-fledged import, dealers are already accepting unofficial bookings for this much-awaited electric vehicle. Originally showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, the SEAL promises an exciting blend of performance and cutting-edge technology.
Key features of the India-specific BYD seal:
Battery and Range: Equipped with an 82.5kWh battery pack, the Seal boasts a claimed range of 570 km on the WLTP cycle in its rear-wheel drive configuration.
Powertrain: A permanent magnet synchronous motor mounted on the rear axle delivers 230hp and 360Nm of torque, enabling the Sealed to achieve a 0-100kph sprint time of 5.9 seconds.
Charging Capabilities: Featuring BYD’s patented Blade technology, the battery can charge at speeds of up to 150kW, with 10-80 percent charge achieved in just 37 minutes. Using a standard 11kW AC charger, it takes 8.6 hours for a full charge.
Design and Features:
Exterior: Taking inspiration from the Ocean Highlights include the coupe-like all-glass roof, flush-fitting door handles and attractive LED lighting elements.
Interior: Inside the cabin, occupants get a rotating 15.6-inch infotainment display, complemented by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display for the driver. The centre console features intuitive controls and a wireless charging pad.
Expected Price and Competition:
Priced at around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), the BYD Seal will compete strongly with rivals like the Hyundai Ioniq 5. With comparable specifications and features, the Seal promises to provide an attractive option in the premium electric vehicle segment.
