Celebrating Private Security Day: Honouring Excellence and Dedication

New Delhi: Private Security Day, celebrated by 23,000+ agencies and 10 million personnel, honors the commitment and sacrifices of security professionals. Spearheaded by CAPSI, it acknowledges their dedication, especially during challenging times like COVID.

Special parades honor exceptional security personnel at business/factory premises. Company heads commend and award certificates of recognition, acknowledging their pivotal role in safeguarding interests and profitability.

This day marks a historic event in 2009 when President Smt. Pratibha Patil assumed the role of Supreme Commander of Private Security Services during CAPSI’s Annual Conference at Vigyan Bhawan. Her acceptance and commitment to nurturing the industry became a watershed moment, a true Red-Letter Day for Private Security.

Kunwar Vikram Singh, Chairman CAPSI & APDI said, “In honoring December 4th as ‘Private Security Day,’ we illuminate the unsung heroes behind safety and order. 10 million Private Security Guards, Officers and Managers play a critical role in safeguarding the public, protecting property, and ensuring peace and order. Often working behind the scenes, your tireless efforts often go unnoticed and underappreciated. It is time to change that and give credit where credit is due. This day will serve as an opportunity to publicly acknowledge and honor all private security professionals for their commitment to maintaining safety. We believe that celebrating Private Security Day will not only amplify the recognition of your profession but also help bridge the gap between private security professionals and the communities they serve.”

President Patil’s historic presence at the conference made her the only global President to attend an annual gathering of Private Security organizations. This event earned admiration from international Security Leaders, establishing December 4th as Private Security Day.
