Celebrating Private Security Day on 4th December with Pride
New Delhi- The Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI) proudly observes Private Security Day on December 4th—a day dedicated to acknowledging and honouring the vital contributions of private security personnel who work tirelessly to protect our communities and ensure safety across various sectors.
This date holds special significance in the history of the private security sector. In 2009, the then-President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil, attended the Security Leadership Summit at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Her presence at the event marked a historic moment, as she became the first and only Head of State to publicly recognize and support the private security industry’s role in nation-building.
To commemorate this landmark occasion, December 4th was declared Private Security Day. It is celebrated with enthusiasm by all member security agencies across the country. The day is marked by special parades and events that honour the dedication, discipline, and professionalism of security guards and supervisors, who are the unsung heroes of the nation’s safety framework.
To make this occasion meaningful and memorable, CAPSI encourages all member organizations to organize the following activities:
Parade and Flag Hoisting Ceremony
Motivational Address by the Head of the Client Organization
Thanksgiving Speech by PSA Officials
Friendly Games, Lunch, and Entertainment Programs
These initiatives aim to foster a sense of pride, belonging, and recognition among security personnel, highlighting their indispensable role in maintaining the nation’s security.
Kunwar Vikram Singh, in his address invite all private security agencies and their personnel to actively participate in this grand celebration and share detailed reports of your events, along with photographs, with CAPSI. These will be included in the annual submission to the Ministry of Home Affairs, showcasing the collective efforts and enthusiasm of the private security sector.
He further added, Private security professionals form the backbone of India’s security infrastructure, complementing public law enforcement and safeguarding lives, properties, and businesses. On this day, let us come together to express our deepest gratitude to these dedicated individuals for their unwavering commitment to safety and security.
On behalf of the entire industry, he extends warm wishes to all private security professionals and encourage everyone to honour their contributions.
Happy Private Security Day!
