Encounter in Doda: Security Forces Neutralize Terrorist Amidst Heightened Operations

New Delhi: In the forest area of Bajaad village, Gandoh region, Doda District, Jammu and Kashmir, security forces engaged in an encounter resulting in the death of a terrorist amidst heightened security measures following recent attacks in the district.

The confrontation occurred during a coordinated search and cordon operation conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Wednesday morning. Reports indicate ongoing gunfire as of the latest updates, with aerial surveillance provided by an Army helicopter.

Earlier in June, Doda witnessed several terrorist incidents, including an attack at Chattargalla injuring six security personnel on June 11, and a gunfight at Kota top injuring a policeman on June 12. In response, security forces intensified anti-terrorism efforts, offering a cash reward for four Pakistani terrorists suspected in the region.

As part of their intensified operations, security forces faced significant resistance during an operation in Sinoo panchayat, leading to the ongoing encounter in Bajaad village’s forest area. Additionally, a patrol recovered a Chinese hand grenade from Pind village, Rajouri district, underscoring the heightened threat.

The encounter underscores ongoing efforts by security forces to eliminate terrorist threats and ensure the safety of Jammu and Kashmir residents. Operations continue as authorities strive to secure the region.
