Excitement Builds as Noida Prepares for the Second Installment of HCL Cyclothon

New Delhi: HCL, a renowned global organization, has revealed the comprehensive details of the upcoming HCL Cyclothon in Noida, catering to cycling enthusiasts and the local community. In collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and under the patronage of the Cycling Federation of India, HCL Cyclothon is scheduled to take place in Noida on March 17, 2024. This much-anticipated event marks the second edition of HCL Cyclothon in Noida following the successful editions in March and October 2023, hosted in Noida and Chennai respectively.

Distinguished as the highest prize offered in any cycle race across India, the cycling event will include a winning prize of Rs 31 lakh. Registration remains open until March 7, 2024, and interested participants can find relevant details at www.hclcyclothon.com. During the announcement, Mrs. Lakshmi Singh, the Police Commissioner of Gautam Buddha Nagar, graced the launch program as the guest of honor alongside Mr. Sunder Mahalingam, President of Strategy at HCL Corporation, and Mr. Omkar Singh, General Secretary of the Asian Cycling Federation.

The underlying theme for HCL Cyclothon 2024 is #ChangeTheGear, symbolizing the transformative power of cycling and its positive impact on individual well-being and environmental sustainability. To enhance the cycling experience, HCL unveiled an improved route and extended distance. The race will commence from Gaur City on the Noida-Greater Noida Link Road, featuring an increased loop spanning 13.5 km compared to the previous 7.5 km. Additionally, a new race category of 27 km has been introduced for this year’s edition, adding further excitement to the event.

Overall, HCL Cyclothon aims to foster a sense of community and promote the numerous benefits of cycling, while also encouraging participants to embrace a more sustainable and healthier lifestyle.

Mrs. Lakshmi Singh, who was present at the launch event, said, “I am very happy that HCL is promoting sports across the country and grateful that they brought Cyclothon to Gautam Buddh Nagar. I believe that through this initiative, Noida can become a more fit and safe city. My aim is to bring a team of police officers to participate in HCL Cyclothon, Noida. I especially appreciate HCL’s strategy for social upliftment in Uttar Pradesh. I believe that with the collaboration of HCL, Cyclothon will become a permanent feature of this district.”

Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Sundar Mahalingam said, “Some recent studies show the importance of cycling in unlocking human potential. At HCL, we are committed to fostering this growing passion and trend in India. We have received a very good response from cycling enthusiasts in Noida and Chennai in 2023. Keeping this in mind, the 2024 HCL Cyclothon will be more inclusive, competitive and attractive for the participants. As part of our objective to promote healthy lifestyle and promote the cause of cycling, we are working closely with several RWAs and their presidents (including Noida Sector 30, 34, 51 A&B, 82 and 122) “
