Google’s Pixel 9 Pro XL & Fold
New Delhi: Google is set to officially launch the Pixel 9 series in India on August 14. Unexpectedly, two Pixel models—the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold—have already been listed on Flipkart. This suggests that these could be the only models released in India, even though four models are expected globally: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Google Pixel 9 Pricing Insights and Speculations
The Pixel 9 Pro series is likely to feature significant upgrades, potentially with a price increase. The Pixel 9 Pro is expected to start at $999 (approximately Rs 83,867), mirroring the starting price of the Pixel 8 Pro. However, the Pixel 9 Pro XL might come with a higher price tag of $1,200 (around Rs 1,01,000) for both the 256GB and 512GB variants, reflecting a $200 increase from the previous year.
If this pricing trend continues, the base Pixel 9 could be priced around $900 (roughly Rs 75,556). However, it’s important to note that US pricing often varies from Indian pricing. For example, while the Pixel 8 Pro launched at $999 in the US, it was priced at Rs 1,06,999 in India. A similar increase of around Rs 23,000 could be expected for the Pixel 9 Pro.
Foldable Version Details and Specifications
For foldable enthusiasts, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold might retain the same price as its predecessor, offering a competitive option in the premium foldable market.
Design and Specification Leaks
The Pixel 9 Pro is rumored to feature a 6.3-inch display, 16GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. Camera enhancements include a 48-megapixel telephoto lens and a 42-megapixel front camera. A recent leak showcased a prototype of the Pixel 9 Pro XL, highlighting a sleek geometric pattern on the back.
As the launch date approaches, excitement is mounting for what Google’s Pixel 9 series will bring to the market.
