New Delhi: The Indian women’s cricket team has successfully advanced to the semifinals of the Women’s Asia Cup 2024, following a dominant performance in the group stage. With victories over Pakistan, the UAE, and Nepal, India has firmly established itself as a strong contender for the title.

The first semifinal will be held at the Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla on Friday, July 26. The match is scheduled to start at 2:00 PM IST. While the exact opponent for India remains undecided, it is likely to be Bangladesh. Bangladesh will secure their spot in the semifinals if they win their match against Malaysia. Should Bangladesh lose, they could be replaced by Thailand, provided Thailand beats Sri Lanka in an unlikely outcome.

In Group A, Pakistan has qualified as the runners-up and will face Sri Lanka, the top team from Group B, in the second semifinal.

The Women’s Asia Cup matches will be broadcast live on Star Sports Network, and fans can also stream the games live on Disney+ Hotstar.

India’s squad includes key players such as Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Vice-Captain Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Richa Ghosh. The team’s impressive performance throughout the tournament positions them well as they aim to continue their winning streak into the semifinals.
