New Delhi: Kia has revamped its Carens lineup for the 2024 model year, expanding trim options from 23 to 30 variants. The highlight of this update is the introduction of a new diesel-manual powertrain, offering customers more choices in choosing their preferred configuration. Along with the new powertrain option, Kia has enhanced the existing variants with several new features, as well as introduced a new paint scheme.
New Diesel-Manual Powertrain and Variant Enhancements
The latest additions to the Carens lineup include the Premium (O), Prestige (O), and Prestige+ (O) variants. The Premium (O) variant adds keyless entry, an 8-inch infotainment screen, steering-wheel-mounted controls and a burglar alarm, adding to the convenience and safety features. Meanwhile, the Prestige (O) variant offers versatility with the option of a 6- or 7-seat layout, as well as premium features like a leatherette-wrapped gear knob and smart key with push-button start.
For those opting for the Prestige+ (O) variant, special features include an electric sunroof, LED map lamp and room lamp, providing a touch of luxury and sophistication. Additionally, all Carens variants now come standard with a 180W smartphone charger, ensuring efficient device charging while on the go.
Updated Features and Range-Topping Trim
The range-topping X-Line trim receives notable enhancements, including a new dashcam and voice command-operated windows. Additionally, customers can now opt for a 7-seater configuration with the X-Line variant. Kia has also introduced an attractive new paint option, Pewter Olive, which adds a new dimension to the exterior styling of the Carens.
Powertrain Options and Pricing
The Carens lineup offers three engine options: a 1.5-litre diesel engine, a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The diesel variant is now available with a 6-speed manual gearbox, 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual), or 6-speed torque converter automatic, providing better flexibility for customers. Prices for the Carens start at Rs 10.52 lakh, with the range-topping variant priced at Rs 19.67 lakh (ex-showroom).
