Mercedes-Benz India Unveils the Highly Anticipated New E-Class LWB

Chandigarh: Mercedes-Benz India has launched the all-new Long Wheelbase (LWB) E-Class, setting new benchmarks in the luxury business limousine segment. The sixth-generation E-Class LWB introduces cutting-edge technology, luxurious interiors, and unmatched comfort, solidifying its position as India’s most desired luxury car. With its emphasis on personalization, advanced digital features, and rear-seat comfort, the E-Class LWB is a compelling choice for discerning luxury customers in the country.

Key Highlights of the New E-Class LWB

The new E-Class LWB comes with a host of advanced features that redefine the luxury sedan experience:

  • Available Variants: E200, E220d, and E450 4MATIC
  • MBUX Superscreen: The 3rd generation MBUX Superscreen features Zero Layer with AI capabilities, offering enhanced digital interaction and personalization through 12 display styles.

India-Specific Enhancements for the E-Class LWB

The new E-Class LWB is tailored specifically for Indian customers, with modifications that make it more suitable for local conditions:

  • India-Specific Suspension: Enhanced agility control suspension ensures a smoother ride on Indian roads.
  • Locally Sourced Components: The side and quarter glasses are produced locally, increasing the localization of the car’s components.
  • Safety and Emission Standards: The ‘Made in India’ E-Class LWB was tested in Spain and Germany to comply with Mercedes-Benz’s internal quality standards for safety and emissions.
  • Spare Wheel Placement: The spare wheel is conveniently placed below the boot floor for better practicality.

Introductory Pricing and Availability

The new E-Class LWB is available at an introductory ex-showroom price:

  • E 200: INR 78.5 lakhs (deliveries begin this week)
  • E 220d: INR 81.5 lakhs (deliveries start from Diwali)
  • E 450 4MATIC: INR 92.5 lakhs (deliveries begin in November)

Mercedes-Benz is already collecting “Expressions of Interest” through its franchise partners for the E 450 4MATIC variant.

Record-Breaking Sales Performance in 2024

Mercedes-Benz India has achieved its best-ever sales performance for Q3 and YTD 2024, reflecting strong demand across its luxury car portfolio. The brand recorded a 21% year-on-year (YoY) growth for Q3, with 5,117 units sold. The January-September YTD sales reached a record 14,379 units, marking a 13% growth YoY.

BEV Sales Surge in India

The brand’s Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) portfolio has witnessed an 84% growth YoY, with BEVs accounting for 6% of total sales in 2024. Mercedes-Benz has introduced six new BEVs, including the EQA 250+, facelifted EQB SUV, ‘Made in India’ EQS SUV 580, and the ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV.

Top-End Vehicles (TEV) and Network Expansion

Mercedes-Benz’s Top-End Vehicle (TEV) segment, which includes the ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and GLS SUV, grew by 18% in 2024. The TEV segment accounts for 1 in every 4 Mercedes-Benz cars sold in India.

To support this growth, Mercedes-Benz has expanded its network, inaugurating 6 new touchpoints and revamping 11 outlets with the latest global luxury retail format. By the end of 2024, nearly 40 outlets will be transformed to enhance customer experience.

Dream Days Campaign: A Festive Offer

In celebration of the festive season, Mercedes-Benz has launched the “Dream Days” campaign, offering potential customers the chance to test drive any Mercedes-Benz car. Participants stand a chance to own the newly launched CLE Cabriolet for a year. Mercedes-Benz Financial Services is also offering attractive financing options, including zero downpayment, low-interest rates, complimentary insurance, and a 7-year loan tenure on select models.
