New Delhi: MG Motor India has bolstered the presence of its flagship SUV, the Gloster, by introducing two new special editions – the Desertstorm and Snowstorm. These variants focus primarily on enhancing the visual appeal of the Gloster, offering distinct aesthetic packages for potential buyers.
The Desertstorm edition exudes a bold and adventurous aura. Its Deep Golden exterior paint job is a head-turner, complemented by blacked-out elements like alloy wheels with red brake calipers, the front grille, and door handles. Further accentuating its sporty character are the “Red Isle” LED headlamps and “Highlands Mist” LED tail lamps. Even the roof rails and spoiler are finished in black, creating a cohesive and aggressive look. Stepping inside, the Desertstorm maintains a black theme for the interior, with white stitching adding a touch of contrast on the all-black steering wheel.
The Snowstorm edition, in contrast, embodies a sophisticated and elegant persona. It features a dual-tone exterior paint scheme, where a Pearl White body is paired with a contrasting black roof. Unlike the Desertstorm, the Snowstorm is exclusively available in the 7-seat configuration. Red inserts on the headlamps, front and rear bumpers add a subtle touch of vibrancy. Similar to the Desertstorm, black finishes adorn the alloy wheels, door handles, spoiler, and front grille. The interior reflects a similar theme, with black seats and steering wheel complemented by white stitching.
Mechanically, both the Desertstorm and Snowstorm editions remain identical to the standard Gloster. They retain the powerful 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine available in two states of tune: a 161bhp/375Nm version for the 2WD variant and a more potent 215bhp/480Nm version for the 4WD option. An 8-speed automatic transmission handles gear changes in both variants.
The MG Gloster Desertstorm and Snowstorm editions are priced at Rs 41.05 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, offering a slightly more affordable option compared to the previously launched Gloster Blackstorm edition. These special editions cater to a wider audience seeking to personalize their Gloster with distinct visual packages, further strengthening MG’s presence in the premium SUV segment in India.
