Pathik Patel Hits Back at Misleading Claims Allegations on Shark Tank India 3
New Delhi: Pathik Patel, the founder of Fit & Flex, recently opened up about his challenging experience Hits Back at Misleading Claims Allegations on the latest season of Shark Tank India. Pathik Patel, who pitched his brand on the show, expressed deep frustration over how he was treated by judges Anupam Mittal and Deepinder Goyal. He also criticized the channel for allegedly editing out crucial parts of his pitch, leading to what he feels was an unfair portrayal.
During an interview on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Pathik Patel shared that his primary goal in participating in Shark Tank India was to raise brand awareness rather than seek funding. However, the situation took a negative turn when judges Mittal and Goyal raised concerns about one of the ingredients in his products, accusing him of misleading customers by branding them as ‘healthy.’
Pathik Patel defended his product, particularly the use of oligofructose, which he insisted is not an artificial sweetener and does not cause a spike in blood sugar levels, as Mittal suggested. Patel expressed disappointment that Mittal, someone he respected, was unwilling to listen to his explanations, despite the scientific evidence Pathik Patel provided to back his claims.
Furthermore, Pathik Patel addressed Goyal’s criticism of his brand’s tagline, “Eat healthy, live well.” He clarified that his intention was not to claim that his products were the ultimate in health, but rather healthier alternatives compared to competitors. He also revealed that a key portion of the conversation, in which Namita Thapar defended the health benefits of oats against Mittal’s comments, was edited out of the final broadcast.
Despite a temporary spike in sales following his appearance on the show, Pathik Patel admitted that the experience left him deeply demotivated. He even sent a legal notice to the channel, alleging financial losses due to the negative portrayal.
