Porter launches intracity logistics services in Calicut

Calicut, 13 June 2025 – Porter, India’s leading Intracity logistics service provider today announced its foray into Calicut, marking a significant step in its purpose to ensure hassle-free, efficient, and secure goods movements in the city. By onboarding local gig workers, the company will launch operations with two-wheelers services in the first phase, with plans to introduce additional offerings, including three-wheelers, Tata Ace, and other vehicle categories in the coming months.

Calicut’s vibrant trading ecosystem with significant daily movements, and Kerala’s high urban consumption driven by app-savvy consumers provides a conducive environment for tech-enabled solutions. The city’s strong trading base in textiles, electronics and FMCG, coupled with the state’s high consumer awareness and brand loyalty make it attractive for on-demand services, something that is seeing increasing demand from businesses and SME’s.

Porter’s strategic entry into Calicut will strengthen the city’s delivery landscape by addressing critical industry concerns including fragmented operations, limited scalable logistics, unreliable service, inadequate customer support, and inflexible delivery options. By introducing tech-enabled solutions to the city, Porter will enhance efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction, strengthening urban logistics for businesses and consumers.

Currently driver-partners have been onboarded to launch Porter’s services in the city with plans to scale further. The expansion is also expected to transform Calicut’s business landscape through direct and indirect employment while targeting 10,000 – 15,000 customers in the first year.
