Prime Minister to Open National District Judiciary Conference on August 31

New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the National Conference of District Judiciary on August 31, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event, scheduled to start at 10 AM, marks a notable occasion as the Prime Minister will also unveil a commemorative stamp and coin marking 75 years of the Supreme Court of India. This gesture highlights the Court’s enduring significance in the Indian legal system.

Organized by the Supreme Court of India, the two-day conference is set to address pressing issues faced by the District Judiciary, which is fundamental to the legal system in India. The conference will feature five working sessions that cover critical areas such as Infrastructure and Human Resources, Inclusive Courtrooms, Judicial Security and Wellness, Case Management, and Judicial Training. These sessions aim to enhance the operational efficiency and effectiveness of district courts, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of justice delivery.

The inaugural program will be attended by prominent figures including the Chief Justice of India, other Supreme Court judges, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law & Justice, the Attorney General of India, the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, and the Chairman of the Bar Council of India. Their participation underscores the collaborative efforts necessary to address judicial challenges and drive reforms that promote fair and accessible justice.

This conference is anticipated to be pivotal in shaping the future of the District Judiciary in India, fostering important discussions, and generating actionable insights that will contribute to the overall development and modernization of the judiciary.
