Rajasthan Government Enhances Benefits for State Employees in Landmark Decision
New Delhi: The Rajasthan Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, convened on Wednesday to discuss and approve several pivotal decisions focused on the welfare of state employees, farmers, and the overall infrastructure development within the state. These measures signal the government’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of life and working conditions for its citizens, particularly those who contribute directly to the state’s administration and agricultural sectors.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the approval to increase the maximum limit for gratuity and death gratuity benefits for state employees. Previously capped at Rs 20 lakh, this limit has now been raised to Rs 25 lakh, providing enhanced financial security for state employees and their families. This decision is expected to significantly benefit those who have dedicated years of service to the state, offering them greater financial stability in retirement or in the unfortunate event of death.
In a further move to improve employee welfare, the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) has been expanded to offer more flexibility in medical coverage. Mirroring the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), state employees can now include either their parents or in-laws as dependents under the RGHS, provided they are dependent and living with the employee. This expansion of coverage acknowledges the diverse needs of modern families, ensuring broader healthcare access for state employees’ dependents.
Beyond employee welfare, the Cabinet also addressed critical sectors such as agriculture and power infrastructure. These discussions align with the state government’s broader agenda of promoting sustainable development. By focusing on both immediate welfare needs and long-term infrastructure projects, the Rajasthan government aims to create a balanced approach to governance that supports both the people and the state’s growth.
These decisions highlight the Rajasthan government’s proactive stance in addressing the evolving needs of its population, ensuring that both employees and farmers are supported, while the state’s infrastructure continues to develop to meet future demands.
