It was also India’s official entry for the Academy Awards in 2019. “Village Rockstars 2” is expected to expand on the themes of resilience and rural life that resonated deeply with audiences and critics alike.

The Busan International Film Festival, renowned for showcasing groundbreaking and artistic films from across Asia, will feature “Village Rockstars 2” in its Jiseok Competition section. This selection is notable as the film is the only Indian feature among the eight films chosen for this esteemed competition, highlighting its importance on the global film stage.

Scheduled to commence on October 2, 2024, the 29th edition of BIFF promises to shine a spotlight on “Village Rockstars 2,” further cementing Rima Das’ reputation as a leading voice in contemporary filmmaking.
