Samsung Expands Galaxy AI-Powered Live Translate to Third-Party Apps

Samsung expands AI-powered Live Translate to third-party apps like WhatsApp, supporting up to 20 languages by the end of the year.

Samsung is enhancing its Live Translate feature, bringing it to popular third-party apps like WhatsApp. Announced during the Galaxy Unpacked event, this AI-powered translation tool will now support more apps and languages.

  • Live Translate Expansion: Initially limited to Samsung’s own apps like Messages and Phone, Live Translate will now be available on third-party apps, starting with WhatsApp.
  • Language Support: The feature, which originally supported 13 languages, will support up to 16 languages in July and 20 languages by the end of the year.
  • On-Device Processing: Live Translate processes data locally on the device, ensuring privacy and faster translation. It can handle phone calls, text messages, and face-to-face conversations in real time.
  • Additional Features: Users can install language packs on their devices for added support.

During the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung also unveiled new devices including the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Watch 7, and the Galaxy Buds 3 series. Additionally, new features like Auto Zoom and Photo Assist were introduced to Galaxy AI, improving user experience.
