The initiative, backed by MDNIY under the Ministry of Ayush, is encouraging citizens across India to make yoga a daily habit ahead of International Yoga Day 2026

Gangtok, Sikkim | May 25 2026: The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr. Prem Singh Tamang recently highlighted and promoted the nationwide digital yoga initiative led by Morarjee Desai National Institute of Yoga in collaboration with Habuild during a public event in the state.

The recognition from the Chief Minister marks a significant moment for the initiative, which aims to encourage people across the country to make yoga a consistent part of their everyday lives in the lead-up to International Yoga Day 2026.

The programme is being conducted in partnership with (MDNIY), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Ayush, with a vision to make yoga simple, accessible, and sustainable for people from all walks of life. This initiative encourages individuals to participate and make yoga a part of their daily lives and is a part of the Ministry’s Yoga 365 to promote yoga as a year-round national movement for health and wellbeing.

Launched as a 100-day nationwide digital yoga movement on March 13, 2026, the initiative has already witnessed participation of around 3 lakh individuals from more than 130 countries and from across all the States and Union Territories and continues to see growing engagement as International Yoga Day approaches. The sessions are being conducted digitally to ensure accessibility for participants irrespective of age, profession, or geography.

The guided sessions are led by Saurabh Bothra, Co-Founder and Yoga Instructor at Habuild, whose approach focuses on habit formation, mindful movement, and integrating yoga into modern lifestyles in a practical and sustainable manner.

Commenting on the growing participation and support for the initiative, Saurabh Bothra, Co-Founder, Habuild, said, “Yoga becomes transformative when it moves from being an occasional activity to a quiet daily discipline. The encouragement and recognition from leaders across the country, including the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, further strengthens our mission to make yoga accessible and sustainable for every household in India. Through this initiative with MDNIY, Ministry of Ayush, we hope to inspire more people to embrace yoga not just as a practice for a day, but as a lifelong habit for holistic wellbeing.”

The acknowledgement of the initiative by the Chief Minister of Sikkim further reinforces the growing importance of preventive healthcare, holistic wellness, and community participation in India’s wellness movement.

With increasing participation from citizens, institutions, and communities across the country, the initiative aims to strengthen India’s long-standing cultural relationship with yoga while leveraging digital platforms to expand its reach and accessibility.
