Six DIETs Felicitated as Centres of Excellence in Jaipur; Education Dashboard Launched
12 March 2026, Jaipur, Rajasthan: In a significant step towards strengthening teacher
education and promoting data-driven decision-making in the state, the State Council of
Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Rajasthan, in collaboration with Sterlite
EdIndia Foundation and with advisory support from UNICEF, organised the Institutional
Strengthening Program Showcase and Dashboard Launch in Jaipur on 12 March 2026. The
event brought together senior officials from the SCERT leadership, DIET principals and
faculty members, along with representatives from partner organisations. The programme
showcased progress made under the Institutional Strengthening Program of Sterlite
EdIndia Foundation, through which 33 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs)
across Rajasthan are being supported to strengthen institutional systems, improve teacher
education practices, and enhance academic leadership. The event was attended by key
dignitaries including Shrimati Shweta Fagaria, Director, SCERT Rajasthan; Shri Piyush
Kumar Jain, Deputy Director, RSCERT; Shrimati Amrita Sengupta, UNICEF; and Shri
Lakshminarasimha Rao Kudligi, Chief of Field Office, UNICEF Rajasthan. From Sterlite
EdIndia Foundation, Dr. Antony Nellissery, Head, Sterlite EdIndia Foundation, was present
at the event. The highlight of the event was the launch of the SCERT Dashboard by Shrimati
Shweta Fagaria, Director, SCERT Rajasthan, designed to enable data-driven monitoring,
institutional tracking, and evidence-based decision-making across teacher education
institutions in the state. Following the launch, Shri Varun Bhamre, Lead M&E and
Technology, Sterlite EdIndia Foundation, along with Uday Nagda, Asst. Prof, SCERT,
demonstrated the dashboard and its applications for strengthening program monitoring.
Shrimati Shweta Fagaria, Director, SCERT Rajasthan, said “This dashboard has been useful
in bringing all the DIETs under one platform. Let us make it successful by fully utilising it
through real-time data entry.” Dr. Antony Nellissery, Head, Sterlite EdIndia Foundation,
added “The Quality Framework for DIETs as Centres of Excellence has been developed to
support DIETs in their journey towards excellence. Through self-evaluation, institutions can
identify their current stage and develop action plans based on benchmarks defined in the
framework. The outcomes shared by DIET principals reflect a shift in attitudes,
accountability, and institutional planning.” Shri Lakshminarasimha Rao Kudligi, Chief of
Field Office, UNICEF Rajasthan, said “Strong teacher education systems are essential for
improving learning outcomes at scale. UNICEF is pleased to support initiatives that
strengthen institutional capacity, promote data-driven decision-making, and enable teacher
education institutions to better support educators and students.” The programme
concluded with closing remarks and a vote of thanks delivered by Su Shri Suman Arora,
State Head, Sterlite EdIndia Foundation, acknowledging the collective efforts of SCERT,
DIET institutions, and partner organisations in strengthening Rajasthan’s teacher education
ecosystem.

The Institutional Strengthening Program Showcase and Dashboard Launch marks an
important milestone in Rajasthan’s journey towards strengthening teacher education
institutions and leveraging technology for better monitoring, collaboration, and informed
decision-making.
