Sony Xperia 5 VI Spotted on German Retailer: Design Details Leaked
New Delhi: Sony is gearing up to launch its next smartphone, the Sony Xperia 5 VI, following last year’s Xperia 5 V. Although Sony has not yet confirmed the Xperia 5 VI, recent listings on a German retailer site suggest the launch is imminent. Protective cases for the Xperia 5 VI have been listed, hinting at its design and some changes compared to its predecessor.
Design and Features
The listed Spigen Rugged Armor cases, priced at EUR 16.90 (roughly Rs. 1,536), reveal a similar design to the Sony Xperia 5 V with slight differences. Notably, the Xperia 5 VI features a pill-shaped camera module with the LED flash placed between the two cameras. In contrast, the Xperia 5 V had its LED flash on the left side. Additionally, the Xperia 5 VI renders show a headphone jack on the top, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a volume rocker on the right spine. The display size and aspect ratios appear to be consistent with the previous model.
Sony Xperia 5 V Overview
For reference, the Sony Xperia 5 V, launched last September, was priced at EUR 999 (roughly Rs. 89,700) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. It runs on Android 13 and features a 6.1-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, paired with Adreno 740 GPU, 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB of UFS 4.0 inbuilt storage.
The Xperia 5 V sports a dual rear camera setup with a 52-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, along with a 12-megapixel front camera for selfies. It is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery supporting 30W wired fast charging and has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
