Tata Motors

New Delhi: In a strategic move towards strengthening its electric vehicle (EV) portfolio, Tata Motors is preparing to launch four new mass-market EVs by the end of next year. Building on the success of models like Tigor EV, Nexon, Tiago EV and the recent Punch EV, Tata aims to further strengthen its position in the rapidly growing EV market in India.

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility MD Shailesh Chandra shared information about the upcoming lineup at the Punch EV launch. He revealed that all upcoming passenger EVs will feature the advanced Acti.EV architecture, starting with the recently launched Punch EV.

The much-awaited Curve EV will be the next member of Tata’s EV family, which is set to hit the market in the coming months. Positioned above the Nexon EV, the Curve EV adopts a four-door SUV-coupe body style, strategically positioning itself in the mid-size EV SUV segment. The move aims to gain a lead in the market before competitors like the Hyundai Creta EV arrive.

Taking a closer look, the Harrier EV is expected to be launched by the end of this calendar year. Based on the Harrier EV concept showcased at the Auto Expo, it integrates the Land Rover-derived Omega architecture with Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture. This combination introduces a re-engineered platform for electrification, promising a unique offering in the SUV segment.

Looking towards 2025, Tata Motors plans to revive the iconic Sierra nameplate with the introduction of the all-new Sierra EV. Additionally, an electric version of the popular Altroz hatchback, the Altroz EV, is also on the cards, further diversifying Tata’s EV lineup.

With these strategic launches, Tata Motors aims to not only expand its EV offerings but also establish itself as a leader in the electric mobility revolution in the Indian automotive landscape.
