Tata Steel hosts 3rd Vintage and Classic Car and Bike Rally of Jamshedpur
New Delhi: The 3rd edition of Tata Steel Vintage and Classic Car and Bike Rally was held on 25th February at Gopal Maidan, Jamshedpur showcasing a spectacular array of automobiles. The event was organized as part of the 185th Founder’s Day celebrations remembering the vision of Tata Group founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata.
Over 160 vintage cars and bikes from the 1920s to 1980s took part in the rally, which was attended by enthusiasts from West Bengal, Jharkhand, Punjab and Odisha.
The rally started from Gopal Maidan, where it was flagged off by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President of Corporate Services, Tata Steel and other respected dignitaries. The route covers several sites in Bharucha Haveli, including Bharucha Mansion, Jubilee Park, Sir Dorabji Tata Park and St. George’s Church, covering a total distance of 23 km before ending at the United Club.
The event generated immense interest among the citizens of Jamshedpur, who gathered in large numbers to view the vintage vehicles displayed at Gopal Maidan and United Club.
During the awards ceremony at the United Club, Choudhary emphasized Tata Steel’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage through signature events such as vintage and classic car and bike rallies. He said the event not only showcased rare automobiles but also celebrated history and culture.
The highlight of the rally was the announcement of winners in various categories. The overall champion in the car category was Saurav Roy’s Mercury 8 sedan, while in the bike category, Harmeet Singh Bhamra’s Triumph 3HW won the top position. The judges of the program included Prithvi Nath Tagore, Nitin Shrestha, Saikat Dutta and Harjit Singh Dhanjal.
Additionally, the rally saw the participation of the Super Biker Club of Jamshedpur which showcased 16 bikes from renowned brands like Harley-Davidson, BMW, Ducati and Triumph, which also included contributions from women bikers.
Launched in 2022 as part of Tata Steel’s initiative to preserve India’s sports, art and culture, the Vintage and Classic Car and Bike Rally aims to become a premier event not only in Jamshedpur but across India. The growing popularity of the rally is evident from the increasing number of vehicles participating in each edition.
