Thrissur Financial Fraud

New Delhi: In a startling revelation from Thrissur, Kerala, Dhanyamohan, an Assistant General Manager at Walapad Financial Institution, stands accused of orchestrating a major financial scam involving Rs 20 crore. Dhanyamohan, who had served the institution for nearly 18 years and was based in Kollam, allegedly executed the fraud through a series of sophisticated transactions.

The fraudulent activity was discovered during a routine audit, which revealed that Dhanyamohan had systematically transferred funds from personal loan accounts into unauthorized accounts over several years. It is reported that these funds were used to acquire luxury goods, real estate, and other high-value assets. The stolen money was reportedly funneled into various fake accounts, some of which belonged to her family members.

Upon detection of the irregularities, Dhanyamohan purportedly staged a medical emergency to evade immediate scrutiny and absconded. The Walapad police have since launched an intensive manhunt to locate her and recover the embezzled funds. The investigation has uncovered that the fraudulent transactions were executed with a high degree of planning and secrecy, underscoring the sophistication of the scheme.

This scandal has rocked the financial sector, raising serious concerns about internal controls and oversight within financial institutions. As authorities continue their search for Dhanyamohan, the case highlights the urgent need for enhanced financial security measures to prevent such incidents in the future. The unfolding events emphasize the critical importance of robust auditing and oversight to safeguard against financial misconduct.
