Tishaa Kumar, Daughter of T-Series' Krishan Kumar, Passes Away at 21

New Delhi: Tishaa Kumar, the beloved daughter of actor-producer Krishan Kumar of T-Series and niece of Bhushan Kumar, passed away on Thursday, July 18, at the tender age of 21. Her life was tragically cut short after a prolonged battle with cancer. The family released a heartfelt statement expressing their deep sorrow and announced that the last rites, initially scheduled for today, had to be postponed to tomorrow due to continuous rain in Mumbai, which resulted in a flight delay. Despite the delay, the family confirmed that the prayer meet would take place as planned at Ruby Ballroom, Hotel Sahara Star, on Monday, July 22, at 4 PM.

The family’s statement read, “Dear Friends and Family, it is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Tishaa Kumar, cherished daughter of Krishan Kumar and Tanya Kumar, on July 18th, 2024. Due to bad weather in Mumbai, the flight is diverted to Ahmedabad causing a delay in landing in Mumbai, hence we have to unfortunately perform the last rites tomorrow. The prayer meet remains as per schedule. Your presence and support during this difficult time would be deeply appreciated.”

Tishaa Kumar had been valiantly fighting cancer for several years. She was receiving treatment in Germany, where she ultimately succumbed to the illness. A spokesperson for T-Series confirmed, “Tishaa Kumar, daughter of Krishan Kumar, passed away yesterday after a prolonged battle with an illness. This is a difficult time for the family, and we kindly request that the family’s privacy is respected.”

Krishan Kumar Dua, her father, is renowned for his role in the film ‘Bewafa Sanam’ (1995) and has co-produced several significant films such as ‘Lucky: No Time For Love,’ ‘Ready,’ ‘Darling,’ ‘Airlift,’ and ‘Satyamev Jayate.’ Tishaa was born on September 6, 2003, to Krishan Kumar and Tanya Singh, who is the daughter of composer Ajit Singh and sister of actress Nattasha Singh. Tishaa made her final public appearance on November 30, 2023, at the premiere of the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Animal.’

The untimely loss of Tishaa Kumar has left a considerable void in her family and among those who knew and loved her. Her death serves as a stark reminder of the profound impact of illness on young lives. During this period of immense grief, the family has requested privacy as they navigate through this challenging time.
