TVS Begins Exporting BMW CE 02 Electric Scooter Manufactured in India

New Delhi: TVS Motor Co, in collaboration with BMW Motorrad, has commenced exports of the BMW CE 02 electric scooter, which is manufactured in India. The CE 02 is the latest addition to the electric two-wheeler segment and represents a significant milestone in TVS’s partnership with BMW Motorrad.

  • Manufacturing and Exports: TVS Motor Co initiated the manufacturing of the BMW CE 02 in October 2023 and has exported 924 units of the electric scooter in the past financial year.
  • Strategic Partnership: The CE 02 is the result of a joint effort between TVS and BMW Motorrad, following the successful development of the 310 series platform, which gave rise to iconic models like the BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS, and TVS Apache RR 310.
  • Performance and Features: The BMW CE 02 boasts a 15hp motor and a battery with a claimed range of 90 km on a single charge. It features keyless ignition, all-LED lighting, reverse gear, and a 3.5-inch TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity. Riding modes such as Surf and Flow are standard, with an optional Highline accessory pack offering additional features.
  • Export Growth: Apart from the CE 02, TVS has also exported 249 units of its all-electric iQube scooter to Nepal, showcasing the company’s commitment to expanding its electric mobility footprint beyond India.
  • Domestic Sales: TVS’s iQube scooter has seen strong demand in India, with cumulative sales surpassing 3 lakh units since its launch in January 2020. In FY2024, TVS sold 1,82,933 iQubes, registering a remarkable 125 percent year-on-year growth.
  • Exports: TVS Motor Co exported a total of 8,87,774 units to overseas markets in FY2024, comprising 22 percent of its combined domestic market and export sales of 4 million units. The company’s products are sold in over 80 countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, with recent market entries in Nepal, Vietnam, and France.

The export of the BMW CE 02 underscores TVS’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and global market expansion in the electric two-wheeler segment.
