New Delhi: In China, Vivo has introduced its newest foldable smartphones, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and Vivo X Fold 3. These feature-rich devices are equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors alongside Vivo’s V3 imaging chip. Weighing in at 219 grams, the Vivo X Fold 3 claims to be the lightest among book-style foldable phones. The X Fold 3 series showcases an 8.03-inch AMOLED inner screen boasting a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Both devices showcase a triple rear camera setup branded by Zeiss and offer up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

In China, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is priced at CNY 9,999 (about Rs. 1,16,000) for the 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant and CNY 10,999 (about Rs. 1,27,600) for the 16GB RAM + 1TB storage variant.

The Vivo X Fold 3 starts at CNY 6,999 (about Rs. 80,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model and CNY 7,499 (about Rs. 87,800) for the 16GB RAM + 256GB version. The 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant is priced at CNY 7,999 (about Rs. 93,600), while the 16GB RAM + 1TB version costs CNY 8,999 (about Rs. 1,00,700). Both models are currently available for purchase in China, offered in Feather White and Thin Wing Black color options.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, featuring dual-SIM capability (Nano + eSIM), operates on Android 14 with OriginOS 4. Its standout feature is the 8.03-inch primary 2K E7 AMOLED display, boasting a resolution of 2,200×2,480 pixels, 4,500 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, and HDR10 support. Additionally, there’s a secondary 6.53-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,172×2,748 pixels. Both screens support up to 120Hz refresh rate and are protected by Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) with armor glass coating.

Under the hood, it houses an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with Adreno 750 GPU, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 1TB of UFS4.0 storage, alongside Vivo’s custom V3 imaging chip. The device is equipped with a Carbon fiber hinge, weighing 14.98 grams, and boasting 37 percent lighter weight compared to previous generations, certified to withstand 500,000 folds by TUV Rheinland.

For photography, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro features a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x zoom, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. Both the outer and inner screens house 32-megapixel selfie shooters.

Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, NavIC, OTG, and a USB Type-C port. The device comes with a plethora of sensors and authentication methods, including a 3D ultrasonic dual fingerprint sensor and facial recognition, with an IPX8 rating for dust and water resistance.

Powering the device is a 5,700mAh lithium battery with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, capable of fully charging the battery from 0 to 100 percent in just 31 minutes. When unfolded, the device measures 159.96×142.4×5.2mm and weighs 236 grams.

The standard Vivo X Fold 3 shares the same SIM configuration, software platform, and display specifications as its Pro counterpart. It is powered by a 4nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, coupled with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, Adreno 740 GPU, and Vivo V2 chip, offering up to 1TB of UFS4.0 onboard storage.

In the camera department, the Vivo X Fold 3 boasts a triple-camera setup on the rear, featuring a 50-megapixel VCS bionic primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and another 50-megapixel portrait sensor. Similar to the Pro model, it sports 32-megapixel selfie shooters on both inner and external screens.

Connectivity options and sensors remain consistent with the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, including a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication and face unlock feature, with an IPX4-rated build for water resistance.

Powering the device is a 5,500mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging. When unfolded, it measures 159.96×142.69×4.65mm and weighs 219 grams, claiming the title of the lightest horizontal inward folding phone.
