Volkswagen Taigun Prices Slashed by Up to Rs 1.1 Lakh
Volkswagen has quietly announced a reduction in prices for select variants of its Taigun midsize SUV, with prices now ranging from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 18.90 lakh, ex-showroom, India. Among the 21 variants available, prices have been reduced for five variants, including the 1.0 TSI Comfortline, 1.5 TSI GT Plus Chrome, 1.5 TSI GT Plus Chrome with additional features, 1.5 TSI GT Edge, and the 1.5 TSI GT Edge with extra features.
The price reductions are as follows:
- Taigun Comfortline: Reduced by Rs 70,000
- Taigun GT Plus Chrome: Decreased by Rs 75,000 to Rs 1 lakh
- Taigun GT Edge: Price down by up to Rs 1.1 lakh

- 1.5 GT Edge Plus DSG Deep Black Pearl: Rs 19.64 lakh → Rs 18.90 lakh → Rs 74,000
- 1.5 GT Edge Plus DSG Carbon Steel Grey Matte: Rs 19.70 lakh → Rs 18.90 lakh → Rs 80,000
- 1.5 GT Edge Plus DSG (with new features) Deep Black Pearl: Rs 19.94 lakh → Rs 18.90 lakh → Rs 1.04 lakh
- 1.5 GT Edge Plus DSG (with new features) Carbon Steel Grey Matte: Rs 20 lakh → Rs 18.90 lakh → Rs 1.1 lakh
The entry-level Taigun Comfortline now starts at Rs 11 lakh, undercutting rivals like the Toyota Hyryder and Honda Elevate, while matching the base price of the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara. However, the Kia Seltos remains priced lower at Rs 10.90 lakh.
Furthermore, the higher-spec Taigun GT Plus Chrome and GT Edge variants have also seen significant price reductions, making them more competitive in the market.
Volkswagen plans to expand the Taigun range soon, with the Taigun GT Edge Sport’s prices yet to be revealed, and bookings now open for the new GT Line and GT Plus Sport trims.
With these price revisions, Volkswagen aims to enhance the competitiveness of the Taigun in the highly contested midsize SUV segment.
