WhatsApp Users May Soon Control Meta AI’s Voice Settings

New Delhi: WhatsApp is on the verge of rolling out a groundbreaking feature that will enable users to have real-time voice conversations with Meta AI’s chatbot, according to a report from WABetainfo. Currently in development and observed in the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 24.16.10.70, this feature is designed to significantly improve user interaction by allowing seamless voice communication with the AI.

The upcoming Meta AI voice chat mode will provide users with a range of default voice options to choose from for their queries. This mode will not be enabled by default, giving users the autonomy to start and stop voice conversations at their convenience. Moreover, a privacy indicator on iOS devices will inform users when the Meta AI microphone is active, ensuring complete transparency and user control.

Beyond real-time voice conversations, WhatsApp is introducing additional features to manage Meta AI’s voice settings. These include options for captions and transcripts, which will convert speech to text during interactions with the AI chatbot. Furthermore, users will have the ability to select between two voice output modes: Brief and Full. The Brief mode will offer concise and straightforward responses, whereas the Full mode will provide detailed and comprehensive answers for more complex inquiries.

These developments represent a major enhancement in WhatsApp’s functionality, aiming to deliver a more interactive and customizable experience with Meta AI. As these new features are gradually rolled out in future updates, they are expected to significantly enrich the platform’s capabilities and elevate user engagement to new heights.
