The campaign was conducted under the global theme “Caring for People, Protecting the Planet” and the message “Screen Early, Live Healthy.” The initiative aimed to educate people about kidney health, early screening, and prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).

Government officials and healthcare leaders appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of public awareness and regular health check-ups to reduce the growing burden of kidney disease.

Key Awareness Activities

  • Patna (NMCH): A kidney awareness program and health camp were organized at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital, where around 100 people received Kidney Function Tests (KFT) and over 200 people underwent basic health screenings.

During these programs, doctors and healthcare experts explained the silent nature of kidney disease and highlighted that diabetes and high blood pressure are major causes of CKD. People were encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyles and undergo regular health check-ups for early detection.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. M. Sudhakara Rao, Chief Operating Officer, Apollo Dialysis Clinics, said:
“Kidney disease often develops without early symptoms, so regular screening is very important. With a network of 175+ clinics across India and over 50 lakh dialysis sessions completed, we remain committed to making quality kidney care accessible to everyone.”

The Bihar activities were part of a nationwide World Kidney Day campaign by Apollo Dialysis Clinics, reaching large group of people across India through screening camps, awareness programs, and health education initiatives.
