New Delhi | January 22, 2026 : AHODS Technologies’ Swadeshi Hydrogen Dual Fuel Kit (HDFK), for which the company has secured patents, has emerged as a highly effective solution to reduce emissions and fossil fuel consumption in vehicles and diesel generators. The innovation recently received a major boost with the ENERTIA Award 2026 for ‘Best Emerging Hydrogen Mobility Venture’, presented this month in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

Developed at IIT Delhi, the AHODS Hydrogen Dual Fuel Kit delivers a unique combination of up to 70% reduction in tailpipe emissions and nearly 20% fuel savings. The technology is applicable across a wide range of sectors, including automotive, power generation, furnaces, boilers, farm machinery, and industrial applications, positioning it as a practical and scalable clean-energy transition solution.

The kit has already been successfully deployed in diesel power generators across multiple industries such as beverages, manufacturing, garments, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Notably, HDFK offers a niche and impactful solution for End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs), enabling significant emission reductions without requiring vehicle replacement. Integration of the technology in industrial boilers has reached an advanced stage.

AHODS Technologies has made formal presentations and submissions to the CAQM, CPCB, and  GNCTD, seeking policy and deployment support for large-scale adoption of HDFK.

The AHODS Dual Fuel Kit, also referred to as ADFK, has achieved NETRA Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7 certification and has successfully undergone Vehicle Chassis Dynamometer Testing under the MIDC Cycle. The system is modular, stand-alone, and does not require any external gas supply infrastructure, making it particularly suitable for remote and isolated locations such as hilly terrains and deserts.

A key differentiator of the AHODS solution is that it requires no modification to the engine. Hydrogen is generated on-demand through electrolysis of potable water, eliminating the need for hydrogen storage. An advanced Electronic Control Module (ECM) ensures precision, safety, and optimized engine performance.

AHODS Technologies has established strategic collaborations with the largest Japanese automobile manufacturer and is working with global commercial real estate leaders for deployment. The technology has also been tested in coordination with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Maruti Suzuki, and Indian Railways, among others.

The company has received multiple national and global recognitions, including being named a winner of the Uber Sustainovate Challenge, selection by AGNIi as one of India’s most promising innovations, Top Startup recognition by Walmart Global Tech at Converge 2021, and inclusion in the prestigious NASSCOM 10,000 Startups programme. AHODS also holds a world record with the Indian Army for successfully testing its hydrogen dual fuel kit at the highest elevation in India.

With growing urgency to curb urban air pollution and reduce fossil fuel dependence, AHODS Technologies’ Hydrogen Dual Fuel Kit stands out as a practical, scalable, and immediately deployable solution to support India’s clean energy and net-zero ambitions.
