JK Cement and UP Rudras Launch Grassroots Hockey Clinic in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow, June 26, 2025: JK Cement, in collaboration with UP Rudras, proudly inaugurated the UP Rudras Grassroots Hockey Clinic today at the iconic Padma Shri Mohd. Shahid Hockey Stadium, Lucknow. This initiative is part of a shared commitment to strengthening India’s hockey ecosystem by nurturing talent at the grassroots level across Uttar Pradesh.
The opening ceremony was graced by Mr. RP Singh, Sports Director, Government of Uttar Pradesh, as Chief Guest, and Mr. Sukvinder Singh, Head of Sports Strategy, JK Cement.
Mr. Sukvinder Singh emphasized JK Cement’s long-term vision for grassroots sports development, especially in tier 2 and tier 3 cities. He lauded the initiative as a significant step towards reigniting passion for hockey among the youth in Uttar Pradesh.

The UP Rudras Grassroots Hockey Clinic will be conducted in two phases:
- Lucknow: June 26–28
- Varanasi: June 30–July 2
Led by renowned Technical Director Mr. Cedric D’Souza, the camp includes five structured sessions covering key aspects of training for both players and coaches. The goal is to instill a sustainable, performance-driven hockey culture in the state through expert-led, on-ground mentorship.
With this initiative, JK Cement and UP Rudras reaffirm their mission to drive sports development from the grassroots — building a strong, skilled foundation for the future of Indian hockey.
