New Delhi: The third-generation Maruti Dzire has been on the market for nearly seven years and is now set to receive a long-awaited update later this year based on the all-new Swift, which debuts next month. The compact sedan will feature evolutionary styling updates, a redesigned interior with several segment-first features, and a new Z Series engine. The launch is anticipated in the second half of 2024, offering a closer look at what’s in store for the all-new Dzire.

While the Swift enjoys global popularity, the Dzire is tailor-made for the Indian market, fitting into the sub-4m category for tax benefits, thus making its global debut in India.

The Dzire’s styling will be distinct from the Swift, featuring unique elements such as a new rear end, bespoke bumpers, alloy wheels, and potentially different headlamps. Maruti has consistently aimed to differentiate the styling of the Swift and Dzire with each new generation.

Expect the Dzire to be better equipped than the Swift, possibly featuring additional features like a segment-first single-pane sunroof and a 360-degree camera.

Under the hood, the new Dzire will share the same powertrain as the Swift, with the K Series 1.2-liter petrol engine making way for the new Z Series 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, optimized for emissions, efficiency, and performance.

Maruti Suzuki plans to launch the Dzire approximately 3-6 months after the Swift, likely closer to the festive season. The updated Dzire will compete with models like the Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor, and with the enhancements, a price increase can be anticipated.
