Mercedes-Benz India introduces the New GLE LWB SUV and AMG C 43 4MATIC sedan in festive season

Lucknow: Mercedes-Benz India has introduced two new models, the GLE luxury SUV and the AMG C 43 4MATIC performance sedan. The GLE enhances the SUV lineup, while the AMG C 43 4MATIC boasts Formula 1 technology and the ‘One Man One Engine’ philosophy for exceptional driving performance and exclusivity.

The new GLE range features upgrade in design, technology, and equipment. It offers three powertrain options: GLE 300 d 4MATIC, GLE 450 d 4MATIC, and GLE 450 4MATIC. The GLE 300 d 4MATIC and GLE 450 4MATIC will be available immediately, with GLE 450 d deliveries starting in January 2024.

The new AMG C 43 4MATIC features the AMG 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, the world’s first series-production unit to feature an electric exhaust gas turbocharger. This new form of turbocharging guarantees particularly spontaneous response across the entire rev range, offering an even more dynamic driving experience. The new turbocharging system and the 48-volt onboard electrical system not only contribute to the outstanding driving dynamics of the C 43 4MATIC but also improve the car’s efficiency.

The AMG C 43 4MATIC on the other hand is developed entirely at Affalterbach in accordance to the AMG famous ‘One Man One Engine’ philosophy making it highly exclusive. The vehicle’s state-of-the-art AMG 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine is the world’s first series-production unit to feature an electric exhaust gas turbocharger in the C-Class. The electric exhaust gas turbocharger guarantees spontaneous response across the entire rev range, offering a more dynamic driving experience than before. This system is a direct derivative of the F1 technology that the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team has been successfully using over the years. The C-Class remains an absolute success story for Mercedes-AMG and with the addition of AMG C43, customers now have on offer, a strong performance sedan in the segment.”

The new GLE luxury SUV offers three powertrain choices: GLE 300d 4MATIC, GLE 450d 4MATIC, and GLE 450 4MATIC. It features AMG styling in GLE 450 d and GLE 450 variants, the latest MBUX (NTG7) system, modern four- and six-cylinder engines with ISG technology, and a Burmester® surround sound system with 13 speakers, producing 590 watts of audio excellence.

The GLE 450 d gets a significant power boost of 27 kW, reaching 270 kW, and torque is now 750 Nm compared to the previous 700 Nm. The AMG C 43 4MATIC sets new standards, inspired by Formula 1 technology, featuring the innovative AMG 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric exhaust gas turbocharger for outstanding performance and efficiency.

The AMG C 43 features AMG Performance 4MATIC with a power distribution of 31% front and 69% rear for improved dynamics and traction. Key highlights include a sporty exterior with AMG Styling, AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission, rear axle steering, 3-stage AMG parameter steering, AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension, DIGITAL LIGHT technology, a Burmester® 3D surround sound system with 15 speakers and 710 watts, and a choice of 7 metallic paint options and 3 MANUFAKTUR paint options.

Service packages for new GLE begin at Rs. 85,000 for 2 years, while the AMG C 43 service package starts at Rs. 1.5 lakhs for 3 years. The GLE prices in All-India ex-showroom range from INR 96,40,000 for the GLE 300D 4MATIC to INR 1,15,00,000 for the GLE 450D 4MATIC. The AMG C 43 starts at INR 98,00,000 (All-India ex-showroom).
